Zorya glanced at her watch. Just as she thought of her, Cassandra entered the brightly lit room. Their eyes met. Cassandra's hazel eyes lit up in the brilliant white room as a gentle smile reached her freckled lips. She sat across Zorya. Zorya couldn't help the swell of her heart at seeing Cassandra again.
"We meet again," Zorya opened, her green eyes full of overwhelming emotion.
"We do," Cassandra replied, her red hair shining orange in the brilliantly lit room.
Zorya's heart paced.
Cassandra's hands itched to touch Zorya's.
They held each other's gaze as though if they if they break it, they will lose each other again.
The room was silent.
The room was loud.
Time ran.
Time froze.
Tension.
Love.
Relief.
"Should we start at the beginning?" Zorya questioned, soft as a whisper.
Cassandra's pale freckled hands reached and clasped Zorya's tanned ones on the table between them. "Yes. Yes, we should."
