"This is hopeless," Cassandra admitted, "How long would we meet like this before it falls down?"

"I'm supposed to be the pessimistic one, Cass," Zorya giggled as she dressed herself.

A week had passed.

A week was left.

Cassandra didn't smile.

Cassandra always smiled around Zorya.

Zorya looked up from buckling her belt, missing Cassandra's laugh in the heavy silence.

Zorya looked at those hazel eyes.

Zorya looked at those shiny red strands of hair.

Zorya looked at those fierce freckles that marked her sculpted face.

Zorya looked at the collarbone that peaked out from her nightgown.

Zorya looked, stared, gazed, watched till she forgot what she wanted to say.

"Say something, Rya. Anything," Cassandra pleaded.

Cassandra watched those jade eyes.

Cassandra watched those straight black hair.

Cassandra watched those scars that littered Her face.

Cassandra watched every inch of those exposed tan skin.

Cassandra watched, observed, saw till she couldn't take it anymore.

She looked away.

Footsteps, shuffling, a soft touch on her chin, directing her back to those jade eyes.

"I felt like I wasted my life in the regiment. But in the 3 weeks I've known you, I lived more than I have ever imagined," Zorya confessed, "if it all falls down, I'll be at peace."

Tears down pale cheeks.

Tears down tan cheeks.

A salty kiss.

"What about me?" Cassandra's voice quivered.

She felt like she hadn't lived.

And then she did, with Zorya.

What would happen without her?

Wars are never forgiving.

In the anatomy of a hug, Zorya's heart and Cassandra's heart touched each other.

And their hearts beat, as one.

Cassandra has never felt her heart beat so strongly before.

Zorya has never felt fear so strongly before.

But whatever happens, will happen and all they could do now is to cherish.

Cherish.

Cherish before it all falls down.

"We really thought we wouldn't make it then," Cassandra said, the coffee she ordered, sitting on the pearl table between them.

"Fools. We were fools," Zorya remarked, "Look at us now."

Cassandra smiled.

She always smiled with Zorya.

"Look at us now."
