We took the elevator back up to our floor and stepped out into the quiet, empty hallway. Pietro slid his hand into mine as we walked down the corridor, and I smiled at his touch.

"Do you want to..." he trailed off.

"Yeah?" I gave him a look as if to say 'go on.'

"Do you want to stay with me tonight? Like in my room?" he asked nervously.

"I would like that," I smiled up at him.

He kept hold of my hand and led me through the door into his room. It was pretty similar to mine, except everything was set the opposite way to my room, as his was on the other side of the hallway.

He let go of my hand and walked over to a dresser. He opened it up and pulled out two shirts and a pair of sweats.

"Here," he said as he handed me one of the shirts.

"Thanks. I'll just go change in here," I said, gesturing to the bathroom.

I walked in and shut the door. I took off my jeans and pulled my shirt over my head. I then slipped on the shirt Pietro had given me. It was soft, and carried his scent, a scent I had grown to love.

I opened the door and stepped out of the bathroom, just as Pietro was pulling his shirt down over his torso. I had exited the bathroom just in time to catch a glimpse of his abs, and boy was it a good view.

He looked up at me and smiled.

"You look good," he smirked.

I half-smiled, looking down and fiddling with my thumbs.

Pietro walked round one side of the bed, and I walked over to the opposite side, hopping in as he did the same. I lay down facing away from him, and quickly felt his arm snake around my waist.

I bit my lip to stop myself from smiling like an idiot.

"Goodnight y/n," he mumbled against my hair.

"Goodnight."

I awoke from my slumber and gazed around the room I was in. It looked unfamiliar for a second, but then I remembered where I was. I felt a strong arm tighten around my waist, pulling me closer.

"Morning Pietro," I giggled.

I heard a groan escape from his lips as he buried his head in the crook of my neck.

"What time is it?" he whined.

"Time to get up," I said, laughing at hid childlike attitude.

I sat up and got out of the bed, earning a whimper from Pietro as I escaped his grip.

I walked over to where I'd left my clothes from the previous night and picked them up. I turned around to be met with Pietro's chest.

"Oh my gosh!" I gasped, "You scared me."

"Sorry," he chuckled, holding onto my arms.

"I'm going to head back to my room to get ready," I spoke.

He frowned, then nodded his head in agreement, "Okay, but wait for me before you go down for breakfast?"

"Of course," I said as my lips curved into a smile.

I left his room soon after, and went back to my own, where I got ready just like every other morning.

I was putting on my shoes when I heard a knock at the door. I opened it to find Pietro with a goofy smile plastered on his face.

"M' lady," he said in a posh voice, offering an arm for me to link.

I did so and we started down the hall, making our way to cafeteria. We had been laughing and joking all the way there, but as soon as we walked in the room, everything fell silent.

"What's going on?" I spoke up, scanning everyone's worried facial expressions, becoming worried myself as to what was happening.

"Hydra," said Steve.

I swallowed the hard lump in my throat, now even more worried about what he was going to say next.

"They're attacking Boston," he spoke sighing heavily.

"What do we do?" I asked, a bit overwhelmed by the whole situation.

"We protect the people of Boston," Thor answered.

I looked at him and nodded. I had never been in any situation like this before and I was kind of scared, however I knew I would have to get used to this feeling if I was going to be part of this team.

It wasn't long before we'd got our stuff together and boarded the aircraft that would take us to the scene of the attack. My heart was beating so hard I thought it was going to burst out of my chest, and my breathing was ragged and sharp.

Before I knew what was going on, we were dropping out of the aircraft, and heading into battle, and despite how I felt inside, I was ready for this. I was ready for Hydra.
