Chapter 10: A New Challenge

The sun had just begun to rise over the city when Jack received the call. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and answered the phone, expecting to hear the voice of a disgruntled creditor. Instead, he heard a smooth, polished voice that sent shivers down his spine.

"Mr. Wilson, my name is Mr. Drake. I understand you and your team are quite accomplished adventurers."

Jack sat up in bed, suddenly alert. "What do you want?"

"I have a proposal for you. I am prepared to offer you a substantial sum of money to lead an expedition into the uncharted depths of the Amazon rainforest."

Jack felt a rush of excitement. "What kind of expedition?"

"A search for a lost city. A city that has been rumored to exist for centuries but has never been found. I believe that you and your team have the skills and the experience to find it."

Jack could hardly contain his excitement. The promise of a new adventure was too much to resist. "I'm interested. Tell me more."

Over the next few days, Jack met with Mr. Drake to discuss the details of the expedition. He learned that they would be searching for a lost city that had been rumored to be filled with treasure. But he also learned that the journey would be long and perilous.
