Chapter 15: Escape

The team had barely caught their breath from the discovery of the lost city when they were ambushed. It was clear that the traitor had informed the other treasure hunters of their location. Shots rang out and chaos ensued as the team tried to fight off the attackers.

Amidst the gunfire and screams, Jack caught sight of Emily, who had been hit and was lying on the ground. Without a second thought, he rushed to her side and pulled her to safety behind a nearby wall. She was in bad shape; the bullet had gone straight through her shoulder. Jack did what he could to stop the bleeding, but he knew they needed to get out of there fast.

The team retreated into the heart of the lost city, trying to lose their pursuers in the maze-like structures. But the other treasure hunters were relentless, and they continued to chase after them. The team came to a dead end, with no way out except for a narrow tunnel that looked as though it would lead to the surface.

They scrambled through the tunnel as fast as they could, with the sounds of their pursuers echoing behind them. The tunnel was claustrophobic and dark, and the air was thick with dust. Just as they were nearing the end of the tunnel, they heard a loud rumbling noise.

Without warning, the ground beneath their feet began to shake violently. Rocks fell from the ceiling and the walls began to crumble around them. The team raced towards the end of the tunnel, with debris raining down on them. They emerged from the tunnel just in time to see a section of the city collapse in on itself. The other treasure hunters, caught in the destruction, were buried alive.

The team was relieved to have escaped, but they knew they weren't out of danger yet. Emily was badly injured, and they had no idea where they were in the lost city. They had to find a way out and get Emily medical attention, but they had no supplies and no way of communicating with the outside world.

As they searched for a way out, they encountered deadly traps and obstacles that tested their skills and wits. They had to work together and use everything they had learned in their journey to make it out alive.

After what felt like hours, they finally emerged from the lost city, battered and exhausted. They had made it out alive, but they had paid a heavy price. Emily was in critical condition, and they were stranded in the middle of the jungle with no way to call for help.

It was clear that their adventure was far from over. The team had to come up with a plan, and fast. They would need to rely on their strength and resourcefulness to survive, and they knew that the dangers of the jungle were still lurking around every corner.
