Ever since you knocked Sebastian Sallow on his behind during your duel in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, taking down that troll in Hogsmeade, and the fact that you are a fifth-year in your first year at Hogwarts, you were essentially the topic of conversation for many people. You couldn't seem to catch a break- trouble does seem to call your name. However, this doesn't disturb you- in fact, it's about time that a Ravenclaw gets recognized for something other than reading and excelling academically but more for heroism and bravery.

You are a generally fearless person (disregarding spiders, they're dreadful creatures), and that drives you through difficult situations such as those.

Whilst walking through the Great Hall, listening to everyone's chatter slowly change from their concern about their practical Herbology exams to your gallantry made your face warm. All eyes were on you as you turned upward towards a flight of stairs, one of many to head to Professor Figs office.

Some students even stop to congratulate you for your efforts. Lenora Everleigh pulled you aside right as you reached the defense against the dark arts tower.

"I heard you single-handedly took down an armored troll in Hogsmeade! Alongside Sebastian Sallow however... that's what's truly disappointing. I saw him in the infirmary when you got back- it looked like he had gone through war and back but you, you were practically unscathed. That is definitely worth mentioning!" She seemed so excited that her eyes looked like they were threatening to jump out of her head.

"I promise it was not that interesting Lenora. In fact, Sebastian held his own until the end- he did most of the work anyway" you smile sheepishly, rubbing a hand along the back of your neck.

"Ah, I see." She smiles wider than she had a few moments ago, "You still fought a troll... I do not believe that I will ever be able to say the same thing about myself." She giggles awkwardly, and waves goodbye with one hand while the other waves her wand, causing her to disappear into thin air. I wonder when I will learn to do something like that you say to yourself.

You press your books against your chest firmly and suck in a deep breath as you walk through Professor Fig's room and up his staircase. You knock on his door and it swings open violently from the inside.

"(Y/N)!" He proclaims. "Sorry about that, I was excited. I've just discovered something. Anyways, are you alright? I heard about the troll att-"

"With all due respect Professor Fig, if I hear one more person talk about the troll attack at Hogsmeade this past week, I might just need to go to St Mungo's for a mental readjustment. I would appreciate it if you simply told me what you find necessary." You interrupt him calmly. You smile gently to show sincerity. You don't want to hurt his feelings, after all, Professor Fig has been very kind to you throughout your adjustment period here at Hogwarts.

Professor Fig releases a light chuckle from the back of his throat. "Alright then, so be it." He hesitates for a moment, straightening his scarf. He begins again, "Well... did you notice anything odd about the trolls?"

"Now that I think about it, yes." You respond, recalling the glow around the armour that the troll was wearing. "Sir– The trolls were wearing armour. It had that dark glow– like the dragon collar."

"Goblin silver. Ranrok used it to control the dragon." He says affirmatively. "But how? And why send trolls to-"

"They were there because of me." You interrupt. "I overheard Ranrok talking with Victor Rookwood". You remembered turning the corner and watching a black top hat sink down a flight of stairs on your way to the Three Broomsticks with Sebastian. You curled yourselves up against the edge of a stone building, Sebastian's hand on your shoulder.

"If Ranrok's goblins and Dark wizards are after you, they want what we found in that vault." Professor figs states plainly. You could see him unraveling this mess in his eyes, the way they were darting from the map on the table toward you, towards his wand, and back to the map again. You glance downward at the map, watching swirls of ancient magic radiate above the restricted section of the library depicted at the top left. You mention this to Professor Fig.

"I figured that you would see something. We could go down there, but I would like you to work with Professor Hecat first. You need to improve your defensive wandwork in the event that we run into more trouble than we have bargained for." He says, making direct eye contact with you. "Come and see me when you are finished, then we can go exploring together." He smiles.
