You walk hurriedly through the mural-covered hallway in the Defense Against the Dark Arts tower. If there was one place Sebastian would be, it would certainly be the undercroft. The urgency in your step would make anyone around you concerned, but it was early in the morning. Most students had already made their way to the Great Hall for breakfast, but here you were, running through the school looking for someone who might not even be where you are looking. You slow down as you approach the floating orchestra, remembering your conversation with Ominis the other day. A gentle chill runs down your back.
"Sebastian has taken a liking to you"
Ominis wasn't the type to be too terribly obscure, but what did he truly mean with that statement? He made it seem as though Sebastian enjoyed your company, and saw you as a friend, but that was the extent of it. However, you couldn't help but let your mind wander to... other possibilities.
Did Sebastian have feelings for you?
Could he have feelings for you?
"Are Slytherins capable of love at all?" you mumble to yourself, a sleep deprived laugh escapes from your lips.
"Quite possibly" A cavernous voice utters behind you, causing your entire body to stiffen.
You turn around, your robe swinging about at your feet. "I figured I would find you around here." you declare.
His eyes flicker with entertainment. "There are one hundred and forty-two staircases in this castle where at least half of them change places by the day... yet you still manage to find me. That's impressive (Y/N)." A furtive smile tugs at the sides of his lips. "You promised me an explanation for what happened during the Crossed Wands tournament. What was that all about?"
"I am not entirely sure how to explain it Sebastain. It all started after the dragon attack. Ranrok and his loyalists are after what Professor Fig and I found in Gringotts."
"Ranrok? And when were you at Gringotts?" he asks, his eyes astonished.
"Professor Fig and I ended up there after the dragon attack. It's quite the tale– Fig had this Portkey–"
"A Portkey? To Gringotts? I'm not sure I follow."
"I barely follow myself– and I was there. Anyway, we ended up in an ancient vault where we found a map. That map leads to the Restricted Section of the Library." Your voice is thick with stress.
"You can't be serious." He gawks at you.
"Deadly serious. I wasn't supposed to tell anyone this- I've certainly said too much." You reply.
"Understood. Your secret is safe with me... Whatever it actually is."
"Thank you Sebastian," you express. "You mentioned being 'clever enough not to get caught' in the Restricted Section?"
"And I am. Meet me outside the library tonight. Tell no one." He commands.
"What would happen if we were to be caught there?" you inquire.
"We would most definitely receive a detention. However, beyond that, we need to keep an eye out for Peeves the poltergeist. Have you encountered him yet?" he asks.
"I once watched him pour water upon another student's head for attempting to use the bathroom by the trophy room. He seems awful." you respond.
"Precisely. Aside from wanton destruction of property, he loves nothing more than telling on the likes of us. We should also do as much as we can to avoid Madam Scribner, the Librarian. She and I have had our own... entanglements. I can hold my own against her. You may not be so lucky."
