After 16 years of living in Italy, Sadie never thought she'd be moving to Outer Banks in North Carolina, USA. But after he had died, a lot of unexpected things had followed. Such as her mother randomly involving herself in drugs and not being able to care for herself or her daughter anymore. Or perhaps barely being able to get her and her daughter to the US without his financial stability.

It was to the point where Sadie could hardly keep up with her own life, seeing as it flashed by right in front of her eyes. One moment, she was living happily in her house and the next she was in the hospital room as the life faded from his eyes. And the next, her and her mother carrying in the boxes of what they managed to take with them from their old house into their new one.

A random dude that she could hardly even remember the name of had helped them carry their boxes inside, exchanging numerous words with her mother. Sadie knew that they had been flirting-- it was apparent in the way her mother looked at the man in front of her.

Sadie was struggling to pick up on half the words they had been speaking-- she still wasn't the sharpest with her English. Sure, she knew a good amount of words and definitely knew her fair share of English, but Italian was indeed her original language and it was pretty difficult having to switch.

And that's why she was lucky to have met a group of Pogues walking down the street as she was carrying a significantly heavy box of items into her house. She would have dropped it if it wasn't for a brunette boy coming to her rescue and grabbing it, carrying it inside with her next to him.

"Thanks." She smiled with a shy shrug, not exactly being the most social person. It was one of her worst qualities-- according to her mother. Being shy would get her nowhere in life, and that she needed to put herself out there or she wouldn't meet a rich man that would supply them for the rest of their lives.

It wasn't really what Sadie wanted, but her mother assured that it was drilled into her head since the ripe age of 13.

"Yeah, of course. You new to the cut?" The boy questioned, his friends trying their best to usher him over as he just waved his hand at them and continued looking at the girl in front of him. She noticed the three that stood upon the sidewalk, sheepishly smiling before turning back to the boy in front of her.

"Yeah-- uh, from Italy." Sadie smiled once again, running her hands through her hair as the Italian accent rolling off her tongue with every word she had spoke. It was clear to the boy in front of her since the first word he spoke that she was most definitely not from around here, though, he didn't mention it until she had said something.

"Italy? Geez, what made you move to OBX?" He grinned with a smile, Sadie returning it softly and scratching at the back of her head. The boy had clearly noticed that the question had made her uncomfortable as she switched on her feet, moving onto another topic in case it was a sensitive thing to ask her.

"I'm John B, those are my friends.. Pope," he pointed to one of the two boys that stood on the sidewalk, him giving Sadie a small wave before John B continued speaking. ", that's JJ," he pointed to the blonde one that stood next to Pope, the boy shifting on his feet as he eyed Sadie, and John B pointed to the last girl. "and that's Kie."

He then turned to look at Sadie once again, awaiting herself to give an introduction to not only him, but his friends as well. Her cheeks grew slightly pink at the realization they wanted her to now introduce herself, laying her hand onto her chest as she was slightly embarrassed.

"Sorry, I'm still not super good with my English and conversation que--queues." Sadie stuttered on the last word, struggling to come up with the true pronunciation to go along with it. The word was weird as it rolled off her tongue, it seeming foreign to her Italian language.
