"Sit down, Smith." Mr. Banter, my boss, said as I got inside of his office. With my heart beating wild, I closed the door behind me then sat down at the chair in front of his desk. This is the second time that I went here. The first time was when I signed my contract for this job and Mr. Banter was smiling back then which I prefer more than now. Because this time, he's not laughing nor smiling. He's sitting behind his desk looking through some papers with his forehead knotted, silent.
I, on the other hand, was playing with my fingers, crackling it from time to time to somehow break the silence that's embodying the room. When I couldn't take it no longer, I decided to speak out the thoughts I was having since I got inside this office. Clearing my throat, I spoke.
"First of all,Sir, I just wanted to say, before you fire me, I would like you to know that the reason I got late today is that my alarm didn't rang and there was so much traffic on the way." I lied then continued,"Please reconsider your desicion Mr. Banter. I won't do it ever again just please, let me stay." I finished, my hands clapsed together now. The knot on his forehead got deeper.
"Who says I'm gonna fire you?" He said that made me sat up straight.
"Y-you're not?" I asked dumbfounded almost couldn't speak.
"Of course not!" He then stood and handed me a folder with papers inside it. I looked up at Mr. Banters with a questioning look.
"That's your next band," he said and leaned on his desk with his arms crossed to his chest,"Carol was suppossed to be the one doing that but an emergency happened. Her grandma got hospitalized, so she has to stay there for a month. Luckily, I have you to do it." He explained.
I looked inside and read the band I'm facing next.
"My Chemical Romance? Never heard of them."
"Not many do. Until now." He went behind his desk and got something from his drawer. A CD,"They made massive amount of sales in less than a month. Though this is their second album, these guys kick ass." He handed me the album that said 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge'.
"What's this for, Sir?" I asked as I took it from his hand.
"It's high time you listen to these guys from now on because you will be in charge of the interviews on this band until their next albums in the future." He said smiling while I knotted my forehead this time.
"But what about Fall Out Boy?" FOB was the current band I got assigned and plus they're an awesome band.
"Don't worry. Samantha already got them." He said.
Samantha is my least favorite person. For one, she's a self-centered bitch. I still remember on my first day here, she almost poured coffee all over my shirt but luckily she dropped it on the floor instead. And she just smiled without even apologizing. That's when Alicia came running towards me then helped me clean my shirt that has little strays of coffee and the mess she made.
I found out that Samantha does that to all the newcomers because she hates having someone new on the office. Yeah, a total ass.
"But I still haven't finished my report yet. I'm still halfway." I complained, didn't want to lose.
"Samantha will take care all of that. My decision is final. Take this job or you pack." He said with authority on his voice. I guess I have no choice then. With a sigh, I answered.
"I'll take it."
