Chapter 06

Wonwoo bit his fingernail as he keeps thinking about the things Gyuri said to him last night.

"And then? What do you want me to do? Act like nothing ever happened between you and my brother? How is that possible? That is like you having a sister who loves Mingyu, your enemy."

"Gyuri ah~!! Are you done?" Asked Jiwoo as she peeked at her best friend who's currently busy packing her stuffs.

"Almost."

Hearing her voice, Wonwoo quickly turned his head to look at Gyuri who's now holding both her bags with both her hands. Gyuri noticed Wonwoo staring at her but she would careless about it.

"Are you okay?" Jiwoo queried.

"Yes, why?"

"I don't know. Maybe you're thinking of something about Soonyoung or Mingyu or Wonwoo." She shrugged, Gyuri's eyes widened so she quickly covered Jiwoo's mouth and brought her away.

"Yah! Why did you do that?!"

"There was Wonwoo near us!" She shout-whispered.

"Oh, sorry. Hehehe." Jiwoo scratched the back of her head while wearing a sheepish smile.

"Anyways.. Why would I be thinking about them? It's just gonna waste my time." She said as she examined her nails one by one.

"Maybe? Because of what Soonyoung did to you the other day and because Wonwoo helped you instead of your brother. I don't know, you have this face that tells me there's definitely something stuck in your head." Jiwoo made hand movements whilst explaining to Gyuri.

Gyuri let out a bitter chuckle as she shook her head.

"You know, I don't know why Wonwoo's trying to help me." She frowned.

"Maybe he's trying to get closer to you?" Jiwoo suggested.

"But why?"

"We never know. But, are you sure that's all you've been thinking? It's like there's something more." Jiwoo cupped Gyuri's cheeks as she squinted her eyes, staring at Gyuri with a skeptical look.

Gyuri laughed.

"Stop it."

"Come on, Gyuri. You can't lie to me. I've known you since diapers." Jiwoo slung her arms around Gyuri's shoulders.

"Correction, it was after I no longer wear diapers. But who knows? Maybe you and Hyemi still wear diapers so, you can say you've known me since diapers." Gyuri tried to tease her best friend who's already annoyed of her by now.

"Huh, not funny."

"If Hyemi sees us bickering like this she'll nag at us like a mother would." Gyuri smiled, but a sad one.

"I know right. God, I miss her so much. I wish she's here with us. You know how much Hyemi loves attending school functions, especially camping." Stated Jiwoo, already looking so sad and gloomy.

"She's always with us."

"You're right, she is always with us."

"How about we visit her later?"

"Cool."

Days had passed and everything are just normal for Gyuri, Jiwoo, Mingyu and Soonyoung. There are times when Gyuri would found herself being near Wonwoo but she tried so hard to avoid him.

"I'm going to Ms. Jung's office to hand her my homeworks. You coming along?" Asked Gyuri.

"My heart and my mind wants to come along but my legs doesn't." Answered Jiwoo, making Gyuri to snicker.
