"Eleanor?!" Paul questioned in utter shock, which caused Jake to flinch slightly. "Yes, Eleanor." He said quietly before narrowing his eyes. "Were you even listening?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"Uh.. I was.! And.. frankly, you know how I feel about her.." Paul murmured matter of factly. I stood there and just kind of stared between the two confused. Eleanor? Were they going on a case with her, man he should of been paying attention.

"Feel about what?" Somebody suddenly asked, and speak of the devil. A brunette woman turned the corner, holding a case file in her right arm.

Paul audibly froze and it took no time for him to glare, thats when I realized something. Oh yeah, Paul did not like her. I couldn't tell you why though, sure she seemed a bit full of herself and thought she was better than anyone. But she had to have one like able trait.

If I'm being honest though I barely saw her around, like she didn't exactly care for this job too much. Maybe she only stopped by the office for a case, but that little time of her stopping by annoyed Paul. The two had something against each other and if they had to work together it was not going to be a fun time.

"Nothing, he's being overdramatic." I suddenly spoke, getting the side eye from Paul. I clearly didn't care about the rivalry those two had and frankly I didn't want another few minutes of a staring match.

"Oh alright." Eleanor muttered, casually walking closer. The idiot beside me huffed quietly, murmuring a quiet insult under his breath that was pointed at her but I just lightly elbowed him, lightly annoyed.

"What are we doing anyway?" Paul suddenly questioned, not realizing he had just admitted to not paying attention, he wasn't in a jokey mood anymore though.

Jake pinched the bridge of his nose in minor annoyance like he was already sick of all of us, Paul and I may of been as bad as Tord but we were at least a little smarter. "You two, are going, on a case, and Eleanor, is going, with you." Jake explained, though he sounded like he was explaining this to children by how he'd occasionally pause for us to collect it.

Paul crossed his arms though and by the look in his eyes I could tell he was about to spit out any reason why he did not want to go with Eleanor, and well Eleanor was glaring right back like she was waiting for him to say something and retort back. But I stopped this quickly. "We'll do it, sir." I said quietly, not wanting another fight to break out.

Pauls eyes widened as he glanced at me. "But Pat!" He whined, almost like a toddler who didn't want to do something. I shook my head. "Your a grown man you can get along with people." I retorted to a now bitter Paul. "But not with her.-" He started before whispering. "Shes a bitch."

"Well your an idiot but you don't see me having a tantrum about it." Eleanor suddenly snapped. Oh boy. "Guys-" I said quickly, trying to stop this before it escalated since Jake was just standing there. "What did you say to me? You know this is exactly why I don't want to take this case!" Paul snapped back. "Guys no-" I pleaded quietly like that was going to help.

And it didn't, in no time the two started to bicker and throw insults at each other like primary schoolers and all I could do was watch. I stood there with my boss who didn't even try to break this up and glanced at him with a pleading look, wanting him to break this up. I know if I stepped in it might make things worse, if Ell insulted me Paul was going to lose his shit like a temperamental child.

Jake glanced back and shook his head, clearly he didn't have the balls to step in either, or maybe because there was nothing he could do to stop them. I was just frustrated at this point, pulling at Pauls sleeve like I really wanted to leave.

"How are you even an investigator your a fucking cactus!" Paul jabbed, livid. "Oh your one to talk, talking to you if like talking to a toddler! I feel like I can only make incoherent sense from it if Patryck told me!" Ell snapped back.

I shook my head, tugging on Pauls sleeve rougher. "Paul.." I murmured, hoping he start to recognize that I really wanted to leave or preferably wanted them to stop fighting. This was causing an unwanted commotion and it seemed even Larry peered over from his office and watched what was going on.

More moments of them bickering later and Paul grabbed the file from Ells arms, and she did not react well to it. And it broke out in a tug of war between the case file, at this point they were going to tear it in half but I've had enough of this. I let go of Paul and stormed off, feeling bitter myself.

This wasn't the first time these two fought and it wasn't going to be the last time, I just didn't want to be a part of it. Paul didn't even notice I had started to walk down the hallway and to the exit. I was just going to wait in the car.

This job was really something, I don't know why Jake thought this was a good idea to put the three of us together. Sure I work well with Paul but theres no way Paul in any universe would work well with Ell. The thing is the idiot wasn't even wrong, that girl had the biggest stick up her ass. She would take charge and not let us do anything on the case, maybe for extra pay. I never unreasonably hated her like Paul but I wasn't exactly fond of her.

I sighed lightly as I got to my car, I didn't have the keys so I was just going to have to wait, which was fine. They'll probably be done soon, then we could all get this over with.

I pulled out my phone, deciding to spend the later minutes just scrolling through stuff. But I had a message from somebody, in the group chat he was deciding to update us on his trip.

"Just made it to the place! It seems really cool, like a murder mystery, but real. But from what I'm getting at some dude murdered his wife." Tord had typed, well he was quick with assumptions. I sighed lightly as I started to type out a response. "Really? Its one of those cases, well at least it seems easy."

"Yeah too easy, it seems fishy. From every crime show I've watched there has to be twist to this!" Tord sent, and I lightly rolled my eyes. "Real life is not a crime show."

"Sometimes I wish it was, most cases are so easy to solve and boringgg."

We talked for a while, turns out Paul and Ell were taking their sweet as time, but atleast talking to Tord was entertaining. His conversation changed topics real quickly and he started talking about how after the case that they should all go to a restaurant, he was really adamant about free never ending breadsticks like they were a gift from god. I had a smile on my face, nothing could change him..
