chapter fourteen

April 30, 2000 (Saturday)

        "So you own a larger house than the Malfoy's did? That's impressive in itself." Theo exclaimed, smiling.

        I was laying next to him in my bed, him sitting up against the headboard. "Draco is going to flip out when he sees it. So much for him being the most fancy and richest of us all." I laughed, looking up at Theo from the corner of my eye. He was messing with my shoulders, rubbing them softly as we talked.

        "Yeah..." Theo drowned off, mindlessly massaging me.

        I closed my eyes for a second while I tried to build up the courage I needed.

Deep breath. Everything will be fine.

        I sat up slowly and Theo let me go, looking at me like I hurt his feelings. Deep breath. "Theo?"

"Yeah?"

        "Will you come with me? To the manor, I mean."  I asked, weirdly nervous. I'm not sure what I think could possibly happen. Theo's mouth drew to a straight line and he just looked at me blankly. Shit. This is exactly why I was nervous, I take it all back.

         "I'm not too sure... I might just want to stay here with your brothers, maybe turn this room into my own room." My stomach dropped. How could I be so stupid.

         "Ry! I'm kidding, please don't get upset. Of course I'll move in with you. And if it's nearly as big as you're explaining it as, you can't be there all alone." Theo laughed at himself, making the panic ensuing in my body diminish.

        "Fuck you, Nott. You aren't even funny." I grinned as I hit his arm in annoyance. "Then why are you smiling?"

        I shook my head and swallowed, calming myself. "I'm not. I only smiled because you sound so stupid." Now Theo started to smile.

       "Sure... That's the only reason. When do you want to go?" He asked. I've been thinking about it all day. I feel bad packing up and leaving so soon after seeing the Manor.

        "I want to go next week. I feel terrible but I think it's time to go. All we have to do is bring my stuff from here and that's all I have left. I left some stuff at Bellsy's but I'm sure it's long gone by now." I explained, thinking it over. I wonder if she kept any of it. All I left were random books or other things and some clothes.

         "That's easy. You can always write to her. Do your brothers know we'd be moving out soon?"

        "I think so..." I hesitated to clarify. They didn't even know Theo was for sure coming with me.

        "Do you remember when everyone came to the Gaunt Manor for Christina's break sixth year? And you and I talked about everything that happened in my childhood?" I asked, smiling at the moment I was about to bring up. "Yeah. I also remember my pathetic offer for you to live with me." He retorted. "You thought it was insane."

*flashback*
December 26, 1997 (Sunday)

        You should move in with Tom when you can. I know he treats you nicely. Hell, move in with me."

        Theo smiled at the last part. It's a joke, right?

        "Imagine. Me, living in the Nott Manor. Us living together." I laughed out loud. Theo laughed lightly and we both laughed harder. Our laughter died out and we were left in silence for a minute.

        Theo and I aren't close enough for that. Nor will we ever be, I'm sure. Us living in the same house? Pfft. That's a crazy thought.

        But, we did practically live together back at Hogwarts for a while. And that included us sleeping in the same bed in a single room.

Maybe it wouldn't be so crazy...

*end flashback*

        "Well you thought so too after you offered. We were so ridiculous that week." I smiled and remembered Theo's piano lesson and all our stupid comments to each other.

        "We flirted twenty four-seven but never even realized it. How did no one tell me to man up and kiss you or something?" Theo laughed. "Maybe you should've. It would've saved us another month of making our friends suffer."

Super mini chapter but Theo and Ry and moving out together!! Yay!
I tried to make it seem more mysterious about them moving or not but it's out now so it doesn't matter anymore anyways.
