Louis's P.O.V

{ T } he castle was eerily silent for the next few days.

The usual constant hum of life; of servants bustling around, the aura of royalty surrounding us, even the small chatter from the patrons as we were doing our daily chores was gone. Everything was silent since that night. Niall and I were helping the maids do the washing but even we weren't speaking. The air was too tense. None of the patrons had been called for another challenge, and we didn't know when or what to expect to happen. Did they not want to push us so soon? Or were they simply planning something much harder...? If the King wanted someone eliminated so fast, and if he was furious that I had lived...maybe he was trying to ensure that my win wouldn't happen a second time in a row.

I hadn't seen Harry all day today, and usually by now he would've called for me...he must've had other duties. Back when I lived with my parents in town, the royals came down every so often just to make an appearance; to remind us commoners that there were people above us. Thinking of home made me feel tired. I missed the sound of my mother's nagging voice; always telling me to make my bed. I even missed my sisters.

"Patrons." Suddenly, a firm and deep voice broke me from my thoughts and I straightened up; looking to the door to see a guard standing and staring at Niall and myself. "To your chambers. Now." He said firmly and I looked to Niall who merely nodded and lead the way out first. I followed close behind him but he slowed once we exited the laundry room; there was another guard there as well. Why would they need two to deliver a simple message? Though it was weird for us to be told to go there in the middle of the day...as we began to walk, the guards continued to follow close behind us and I frowned; glancing over my shoulder. Why would they be following us? Niall was taking careful and slow steps, but one of the guards pushed me into him. "Walk faster, patrons. We haven't got all day."

"Could I ask where we-" Niall began to say, however they cut him off.

"No questions boy, just walk." We got to the  chamber room door and Niall's hand reached up to turn the handle, however one of the guards pushed past us, knocking us both into the wall and he opened the door up. The whole room was black and we couldn't see a thing; we didn't need to either because the second the door opened the other guard pushed us in with force. My feet stumbled and I tripped over Niall; rolling further into the room. The sound of whimpering and groaning filled my ears and I tried to sit up.

"What the hell..." I mumbled before someone came up behind me and roughly grabbed my wrists; tying them together with what felt like rope.

"What the fuck is this?!" Niall cursed and I heard a smack. They must've hit him.

"Be quiet or there will be further consequences." The guard's deep voice sounded. I gagged whenever someone shoved material into my mouth and then stuck tape over it so I couldn't speak. I didn't try scream though until material was placed over my eyes, and now I couldn't even see the outline of people. Blackness was everywhere, and it almost felt like there were bugs crawling all over my skin. Were they doing this to all the patrons? Was that what I heard when he were pushed in here? I knew they'd done the same to Niall because his muttering had stopped and turned into a muffled groan. Footsteps got further and further from me, and then the sound of a closed door filled my ears. We were locked in darkness, for god knows how long.
