LACEY
"Open the door, Lucas! We need to figure things out!"
It was eight in the morning and I was currently trying to break down Lucas's door. The campers were at breakfast, leaving us to figure out this week's activities.
"Lucas I swear if you don't open this door in the next two seconds, I will tear it off the hinges!" The door suddenly swung open and I accidently punched Lucas in the face with the hand I was using to knock.
His hand flew up to hold his nose. "Ow, Lacey? What the hell?"
I was going to apologize but, he should have answered me sooner. "Yeah, that was completely your fault."
He just scowled and turned walking back into his room. I followed him in and stood awkwardly.
"Um, what are you doing?" He asked with a curious face.
"What do you mean?" I asked swaying on my feet, unsure of what to do or where to go.
"Oh no. Seriously?" Lucas snorted with laughter. Now I was just confused.
"What do you mean? I'm literally so lost."
"You've never been in a guy's room before and now, you don't know what to do with yourself," He laughed when I blushed, confirming his suspicion.
He kept laughing and I just covered my face with my hands. This should not even be embarrassing but, Lucas' snorts and giggles brought pink to my cheeks.
"Please stop, Lucas. Don't laugh at me, I hate being embarrassed so much."
After a moment he quieted down and I looked back up at him. "Hey, I'm just messing with you. Your cute when you're embarrassed."
I just rolled my eyes and turned my head away, feeling the blush creep back over my cheeks. "Okay but seriously, we need a plan."
Lucas just groaned and fell backwards onto his bed. He lifted his arms, crossing them over his eyes. "Why? It's camp just let them do what they want. Take it day by day. Making a plan sucks all the fun out of it."
I quietly agreed, not really hearing what he said. The sliver of skin, peeking out where his shirt failed to meet his shorts was extremely distracting. Before I knew it, I was blushing again. Frick my life I need some control.
Lifting his arms slightly, Lucas peeked at me. "Is your face red 24-7? I swear your never not blushing."
He jumped up off the bed and stood in front of me. I will say, I do get embarrassed easily but, I get annoyed just as effortlessly.
"Shut up, this is why your ugly," I cringed inside. What the hell? That was super lame but, I kept up my tough front.
His olive eyes sparkled and he grinned, making my knees weak. I gulped, suddenly aware of our closeness.
"Say what you want but, I know you don't actually think that."
"Whatever.".
"Whatever," He mimicked in a squeaky high voice.
"Shut up. Miss Betsy announced a scavenger hunt this morning which, you would know about if you actually attended the meeting. When the campers come back, they will have a list of things to find. I don't care how we do it but, we need to split up into two groups and each take half the list, got it?"
