I picked up my phone that was lying on the bed. It was my Mom.

"Yes, mom?" I asked her, glancing at Shivani.

She was looking at me.

"I just wanted to find out if you were alive." My mom said from the other side. I was hardly able to hear her over all the background noise.

"No, this is Naya's ghost speaking." I deadpanned.

"Naya." my mom warned, but I could hear her smiling. "Anyway, I called to tell you, a few friends of mine are going to get some sweets. Would you like to join us? Or do you want to spend time with your friend?" She asked.

I really wanted to spend more time with Shivani. I asked mom to give me a second as I asked Shivani. She was more than happy to let me stay over. I told my mom this.

"Alright then. I am assuming you will be staying over for the night then. Will you be comfortable?" She asked, to which I said yes.

"Okay. Come back by 11 tomorrow morning, yes?" She asked to which I agreed as well. I gave her Shivani's room number and then she cut the call.

Shivani and I had the entire night to ourselves, no one to interrupt us. What could we do?

Talk more, of course.
And that's exactly what we did.

We spoke about Shivani's family. I asked her why she had a room of her own, and she said it was because her parents wanted her brother to sleep in their room. He was 5 and they felt that Shivani might find him difficult to manage.

She seemed miffed about it but I was secretly grateful.

Somehow the topic of weddings came up.
We also spoke about the people in the wedding behaved and how superficial the whole affair looked. We both agreed that lavish weddings were pointless and if it were up to us, we would go for a simple wedding with only close friends and family.

"Would you want to get married?" I asked her.

"Maybe a few years later sure. But I would be completely okay if I never got married and just lived with my partner as well." She said. " You? "

"I guess I can see myself getting married. I just don't know when, how or to whom." I said.
"What about me?" She asked, her eyes twinkling.

"You would do perfectly." I said confidently .

"See, I solved one problem already. You should keep me around. I am clearly helpful." She winked at me.

"Helpful indeed." I made my voice deep as I said this, a sleazy grin on my face as I gave her a once over.

To my surprise, this caused her to laugh very loudly.

"Tha-that was spot on!!" She spoke between laughs, gasping for air.

Oh no, it had happened. She was doing it.
She was pretending my jokes were funny so that my feelings wouldn't be hurt.

"Um, Shivani?" I said, my voice soft. She looked up at me, her eyes still gleaming with mirth. "You don't have to laugh at my jokes. I know they might not be funny sometimes, you don't have to fake your laughter to spare my feelings."

Shivani held my hand in hers as she stroked my palm with her thumb.

"Naya, I don't pretend when I am around you. Everything that I feel about you, for you, is real. I don't need to fake it." And with this, she gently kissed me.

It was small things like these that made my heart flutter. Don't get me wrong, Shivani was insanely pretty, the prettiest creature I laid my eyes on. But below all that beauty, she had a kind heart.

Somehow, an hour passed. We moved to the bed so that we could talk lying down. And just as I said, I started feeling sleepy the minute my head hit the bed. I did not want to sleep; this would probably be the only time I got to spend with her and I wanted to refrain from letting her hear me snore for atleast some more time, thank you very much.

Shivani noticed my droopy eyes.

"Hey, you okay?" She asked. "you can sleep if you want to."

"I don't," I whined. " I wish I wasn't like this."

"There's nothing wrong with you, believe me." Shivani said. She seemed to think about something before she reached out and placed her hand on my waist. As if that was not enough to wake me up, she gave me a tiny kiss on my neck.

I jumped as my heart started beating faster.

"Wait, are you ticklish?" She asked me, a grin creeping up on her face.

Uh-oh.

"N-no. I am not." I said, screaming at myself internally for being such a bad liar.

"Hm. I don't believe you." She said, as she slowly inched her hand to my waist.

"I am not, I swear! It's pointless to try anyway since you won't be getting a reac-  BWAHAHAHA!" I laughed VERY loudly as Shivani tickled me.
She was unrelenting. My stomach hurt because I laughed so hard, and somehow she ended up straddling me while she tickled me. She stopped soon and stared at me with a huge smile.

"What?" I asked her, unable to stop smiling.

She bent and kissed me. Hard.
I was breathless when she withdrew. She held my face in her hand as she tucked my hair behind my ear with another.

"God, why are you so stunning? How do you manage to take my breath away with everything that you do?" She said.

I blushed. Never in my life had I blushed before. But now, in front of this extremely gorgeous human being, I blushed.

She got off me and laid down next to me. I stretched my hand and got her to lay her head down on my arms.

We were comfortable.

We spent the rest of the night talk about everything and nothimh in particular. We shared sweet kisses along with ourbdeepest thoughts.

Soon, it was time for me to go.
