I couldn't speak a word. I could feel my face going red. She noticed this and smiled. She slowly walked closer to me until there was not a lot of distance between us. She slowly extended her palm to touch my face. She tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. Then she slowly cupped my face.

"It's not just your outer beauty. There is something within you, it shines through. It is like a beacon. That is what attracted me to you in the first place." She spoke, her voice barely audible.

I raised my head suddenly. "Attracted?" I asked.

She nodded.

"I was talking a few people when something inside me told me to look up. I did and there you were, the prettiest girl i had ever seen. You were glowing. I just wanted to talk to you, to see smile, to hold you..." she trailed off and gulped.

"I think I went too far" she gave a small smile, not looking directly at me.

I held her slowly by her chin and lifted her head. Her eyes had a sort of vulnerability in them.

"No not at all" I said, my voice trembling.
"When I saw you first, I felt like you were a goddess. I am not even exaggerating right now. I just wanted to get to know you. I guess both of us were attracted to each other then."

"Yeah I guess we were" she mumbled as she looked down at the ground, a soft, content smile on her face.

She suddenly looked up at me.

"I have a room in this hotel. You wanna spend some time there? You know, get away from this crowd?" She asked, taking a small step in my direction

"S-sure, let me ask my mom" i said, taking a few steps back.

I then turned away from her and almost ran to where my mother was sitting.

'Mom, can Shivani and I go spend some time together in her room? It's in this hotel" i asked her, a little out of breath.

My mom looked at me. Her eyes flitted across my face before she smiled happily.
"My daughter made a new friend. And here thought you will be alone forever" she sighed in relief.

"Mom!!" I whined.
"Go go now. You don't want to keep your friend waiting" my mom said waving a hand carelessly in the air.

I swear, she loved me.

I went to where Shivani stood waiting patiently.

"Let's go." I said to her.

She didn't waste even a second. She held my hand as she dragged me to the elevator.

As we stood waiting for the elevator, she slowly intertwined our fingers. I looked at our hands, a small smile making its way to my face.

"I hope it's okay with you." She said, her free hand slowly tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"I don't mind" I replied not looking directly at her.

We heard the ding of the elevator and entered it as soon as the doors opened.
We reached up to her room which was on the 13th floor. She opened the door with her keycard and i walked in.
As the lights came on, i marvelled at the beauty of the room.
The curtains were a beautiful white, and were billowing with the wind. The lighting was not very bright. It manged to highlight the decor of the room very well. Although everything was pretty standard, i couldn't help but wonder how it looked so beautiful.

"It looks good, doesn't it?" Shivani asked from behind me.

"It does, it really does" i replied.

"Come in" she said, placing her hand gently on my waist to guide me. Her hand on my exposed waist sent chills through my entire body, and snapped me back to the moment.

"Let's go to the balcony" she said, her hand still on my waist.

I let her lead me to the balcony, as I followed her in a daze.

If I thought the room was pretty, it didn't compare to the view from the balcony.
Since the room was pretty high up, the traffic sounds were distant. We could only see the red and yellow lights of the vehicles below.

I looked up to see the sky, and what I saw almost took my breath away.

The moon looked much bigger, and emanated a beautiful glow that lit up the sky. The pure, shimmering light made me feel light and free. I felt like someone was looking at me and turned to see Shivani's eyes on me. As soon as i looked at her, she averted her eyes.
I took a moment to admire her. Her sharp features looked beautiful in the moonlight, her eyes shone with a knowing look. She had something in her that emanated a sort of warmth. I wanted to stay by her side and never leave.

Her beauty was angelic. She glowed in the moonlight as she gazed at the moon, a look of awe on her face.

"You look really pretty" I blurted out

Shivani looked taken aback. She looks at me, her eyes wide and her cheeks start to flush

"Oh. Uh-thank you...um" she stumbled, her face turning redder with each second.
She played with her fingers, and clears her throat. She tried to talk but cannot.

I slowly moved my hand to cover hers. I took her hand in mine and looked at her palm. She stared at me wordlessly, not knowing what to make of the situation

I traced the lines of her palm.
"I like this. I like you. Spending time with you is so easy, it makes me feel peaceful, like we have known each other for long."

Shivani breathed shakily.
"I like you too. But I am scared. Will this work? Will we work?" She asked, and i looked up to see her eyes filled with worry. "We live so far away. And I have heard from so many that long distance hardly works. I cannot lose you."

I cupped her cheeks, taking one step closer to her. She leaned into my touch, making me smile.

"We will make it work. Don't worry, I won't let you go so easily." I said as I cover the distance between us slowly. Shivani leaned in to me, and I smiled before pressing my lips against hers.
