Chapter 3 the road to destiny

As we got on the road we all told my boyfriend everything that happened yesterday. Oh gosh. That must be so bad for you guys." I stayed silent because I didn't want him to worry about me or my sisters. "Hey why is Odilia not talking?" Velia said in a suspicious tone. My boyfriend checked on me and asked if I was ok. I nodded and turned away to look at the window as the air of the road swarmed around us. Then we stopped at the gas station for two things: water and food. My sisters asked me if I wanted to go with them while my boyfriend was busy filling up the car with gas. "No, I'm good, you guys'' I said softly while trying to keep my emotions hidden away from them while listening to music on my airpods. While they were at the gas station it was only me and my boyfriend. "I know something is bothering you Odilia" you know you can tell me anything dear. "I know but I don't want to stress you out with this." I said while trying to push my urge to cry away. You're not stressing me out dear. I'm worried about you, you know? When you told me what happened yesterday I could not sleep because I was worried if your father did anything more to you. And I would not forgive myself if anything happened to you Odilia. And to be honest you're one of the best girls i ever met. Because whenever I'm feeling bad or stressed out way you always make me feel better when I'm talking to you or hanging out with you like that one time we got boba, remember? When I heard these words from him I could not contain my emotions anymore. I cried in his arms. "Everything will be ok Odilia." As I said to myself to keep me from crying anymore. "Everything will be over soon, dear trust me. As soon as this is all over we can go get boba" i-i hope so. I can't take this much longer "I said as he leaned to kiss my head. And he gave me a hug. Uhhh- are we ruining the love birds' moment? Velia chuckled. "Uhm no not at all! Heh-"
I said while looking away blushing-. We should get back on the road should we?"
Yea we should "I said softly. As we got back on the road I sat looking at the window thinking about what my father said to me. Then i started to feel sleepy all of a sudden then i just fell asleep.
I woke up again in my house wondering if it was a dream or not. Then I saw my mom screaming to be let out. I ran to her then I saw multiple of my father standing in front of me. I started to back away to run but I was knocked out with something hard. I could hear voices in my head saying "Odilia wake up" then my head was shaking then i gasped and started crying. Are you ok dear? Did you wake up from a nightmare?" my boyfriend asked. I nodded then just tried to stay calm.
My sister Juanita patted me on the head and checked if I was ok. I nodded to her answer but
I wasn't really ok. I just didn't want her to worry about me. As we drove towards the border to el Sacrificio a ton of memories started flooding back to me as i recognise the road to Ines house
I told my boyfriend the route and he took us there. When we got there I remembered everything. I remember when we dropped off the dead man we had to answer some questions but we had to keep it low. As I walked to the entrance of the house I checked if that dog that attacked me when we were here two years ago was still there and as I walked to the front door I was welcomed by Ines. "Odilia, it's been so long. How are you doing?" I said In a soft tone. "Not good. But thanks for asking." May I ask why? Ines said in a curious tone. "It's a long story but I'll try to tell it." I said in a calm tone. I told her the whole story "oh dear that's bad like really bad." Yep.." I said while trying to not get emotional. Well you guys should stay for a few days so you can get back into your feets. My boyfriend said "thanks but we are on a mission to save their mother from their dad." " I understand but stay for a day so you guys can rest before going back on the road" Ines said in a calm tone. Well dear what do you say? Should we stay or leave?
My boyfriend said while hugging me close to him "i say we stay for a night or two i guess." I said while hugging his arm closely to me. We got a few of our things and went to our room for the night. We also got an air mattress earlier at a local walmart. Me and Juanita fixed the airbed and fixed my sister's sleeping bags. "Shouldn't we find something to eat?" Juanita asked in a curious tone. While my sisters were helping Ines with dinner, I sat on the air mattress and my boyfriend was next to me "are you ok Odilia darling?" y-yea im ok love." I said in a soft tone.
I know you're not ok my dear" he said while hugging me closely. I started crying and said,
I'm just scared of what would happen if my father hurted my mother. Everything will be ok dear."
My boyfriend said in a calming tone while hugging me tightly to stop me from crying. "Here's something to cheer you up" he gave me a picture of me and him standing in front of my school
I looked at myself in the picture and I looked sad and felt emotional then my boyfriend said "i don't know what happened in the picture you seemed upset of something. Then he gave me another picture and I said " i-is this our first picture t-together?" he nodded and said " mhm i kept it safe so one day i could give it to you my dear." I smiled at him and kissed him on his cheek. And I gave him a hug. Thank you my love this m-made me feel a bit better, I said as I wiped my tears off my face with my hoodie. But you should hold it on for me because sometimes I lose things I said blushing. He took it from my hand as I tried to draw something on my notebook while he hugged me tightly. "What are you drawing love?" i'm not really sure but it kinda looks adorable like you i said smiling. Juanita stuck her head out of the door and said "guys dinner is served!" i said "ok we will be right there!" when we got there the tv said the following headlines.
