As we set out to our river bank we wanted to see if our protector La Llorona was still here. After two years I called out "La Llorona are you here? We need your help. I felt her presence around me and when she showed herself I gave her a hug. "Hey Odilia, how are you?" I'm not so good, we are not so good. We would really like some help "well i can see what i can do for you guys" thank you so much! We should go home and rest and prepare for our journey girls "as i said as we started walking back home" she's right "said juanita. Odlila, " do you think mama is ok?" as she said this i went to her and put my arm on her shoulder. I sure hope as I said in a tone to not let my sisters know I'm feeling emotional. As we got to the gate of our house I told the girls to prepare for our journey for mama. While I fixed them welfare burgers for dinner.
As i cooked i just had the thought to cry from what papa said to me earlier today. But like always I just tell myself everything will be alright as I put my hand on my heart and took a deep breath.
Girls dinner is ready! As I said to them As they walked down the hall they asked why i'm not eating i said "im am i'm just gonna pack my stuff for our journey." So I went into my room and started to pack some clothes and my books. I also put my earrings that la llorona gave me 2 years in a case where I put my airpods in. and put a few more clothes in my bag then i went to my closet and pulled a few t-shirts and normal shirts and a hoodie that my boyfriend gave me he was the only person that understood me. I love him with all my heart. And he was the only boy that made me feel safe and happy after what I was through. As i stuffed my things in my bag i got some clothes for bed and sat them on my bed so after i'm done eating i could just change and get myself ready for bed. As i walked down the hall to the kitchen my sisters made me food
"Aww guys thank you!" as I smiled and gave them a big hug. Then I saw their plates were still full. Why didn't you guys eat as I sat down at the table? What, we can't wait for you so we can all start eating together? Juanita asked in a happy tone. I smiled at all of them and took a bite of the burger they made for me. As we ate we talked about a plan on how we are gonna get mama back from papa and his guards " well anyplans girls? As I said with my mouth full of food.
We can attack the guards at once! Velia said in a tone for revenge. I put my hand on my face and said" Velia how can we? If we are just minors we can't take them." oh really? Then how did we kill loads of barn owls hm?" i looked at her with a wide eye and said, " we had weapons around us duh" as i rolled my eyes and continued eating" juanita said " i have a plan!
As I turned to Juanita and said '' well let's hear it! " Well, we can call the police and tell them that papa took our mom and kidnapped her. I said" and how are we gonna show them proof?" Then I just remembered the camera that we had in the kitchen where it all happened. "We can use the-
THE CAMERA!" as I yelled in happiness. Hey! I was just about to say that! "Juanita laughing
I smiled and said" Ha! Beat you to it" as I began to giggle. Then we all began laughing.
Then we all agreed on Juanita's plan and finished eating. As soon as we put the dishes in the dishwasher we did a cinco hermanas handshake that we always did when we were small.
It was like our thing only and only sometimes we would get mama in our handshake.
Then Juanita asked if I could call my boyfriend to take us on our journey. I was always too shy to call my boyfriend. But I just agreed to her and went into my room and laid down on my bed. Then I picked up my phone and texted him.
1 hour later
"Juanita, he said he will take us!" That's good news! Juanita said with happiness. I said" Mhm! But we should go to sleep."
Yea I agree" well good night girls! I said in a calming voice. Night!" My sisters said.
I smiled as I closed my door and got some shorts out of my dresser. And laid on my bed while reading my book. I kept thinking about what happened today and I was hoping this would be over soon so I just took a big breath and closed my eyes and fell asleep.
The next morning.
*knock knock* I woke up to a knock on the door so I opened my door and went to the front door and looked at the window and I saw my boyfriend standing there. I blushed and opened it and I
was welcomed by a hug and a kiss from him so I did the same. He didn't want to let me go and he whispered in my ear "you ready?" I said softly. "I guess." But deep down I wasn't ready. I was scared. I was scared to face my father. My boyfriend can somehow see my emotions just like this one time when I was having an anxiety attack but I kept saying I was fine but he still found out. I'm lucky to have him in my life. He found out I wasn't ready and said. "Odilia, I can tell you're not ready. I can see you're scared."He put his arms around me and gave me a hug and a kiss on my forehead" I cried on his shoulders. Then my sisters said "well guys are we ready to head out into the unknown?" I looked at them and wiped away my tears." Lets go get mama back" i said with a bit of heroism in my voice we packed our things in the car and we were ready to embark on our journey. " I got a few snacks for all of us," my boyfriend said with glee holding a bunch of snacks in his arms. I giggled and smiled at him while waiting in the car. "Well girls. Are we ready for this?" I said in cheer. They said, "YES!!" so we got onto the road with our friends the mariposas along with us. We were ready for what's coming to us on this journey.
