Chapter 3: Primary Suspect

Taehyung's primary suspect

Jeon Jungkook

Unlike the other suspects in Taehyung's list, the reason Jungkook is part of the suspect is that Taehyung hates him so much for some unbeknownst reason. He badly wants to see Jungkook be rotten in jail, even though he doesn't have enough proof against him. He believed Jungkook is a criminal, that's it.

With Jungkook sitting on the swivel chair while speaking to someone on the phone, Taehyung stands up in front of him and Jihoon behind him.

"Okay, see you later."

Jungkook ended the call and stood up from his seat.

"Detective Kim, miss me already?" Jungkook asked and crossed his arms.

"No, this time you have to admit that you are the serial killer and tell me the truth about your motive."

See, there are differences in how Taehyung treats Jungkook from the other suspects.

"Seriously, Kim, you are so cute." Jungkook pinched Taehyung's cheeks.

"I'm being serious here, Jeon, don't play with me." Taehyung gently pushed him away from him.

"I don't have any idea what you are talking about, Detective Kim." Jungkook sighed.

"Where are you between 11 - 11:15 pm last night?" Taehyung asked, looking at him.

"Hm, so that time is almost midnight and the only thing I did during that time is to jerk while moaning your name." Jungkook retorted with a straight face.

Jihoon's jaw dropped when he heard that, he can't believe hearing that from Jeon Jungkook who is known for being handsome young CEO.

"Jeon Jungkook!" Taehyung grumbled.

"What?" Jungkook responded, looking at Taehyung with a serious look.

"Can you please tell me the truth? I am not here to play with you!" Taehyung argued.

"And so I am, I told you the truth." Jungkook replied truthfully.

"When are you going, to be honest with me?" Taehyung inquired irritatedly.

"When are you going to believe me?" Jungkook stared into Taehyung's eyes.

Jihoon can feel the tension between them, he just gulped, knowing it will be awkward if he does something.

"I don't have time for your bullshit."

Taehyung was about to leave, but Jungkook was quick to pull him on his waist, pulling him closer until there was only a gap between them. And Jihoon found it seriously odd.

"What? You're leaving already? Aren't you supposed to ask me a bunch of questions to prove that I'm a suspect?" Jungkook snickered, grasping Taehyung's waist.

"Let me go" Taehyung glared at him, trying to push him away.

"Oh, come on, are you upset, Detective Kim? You just came, you can't leave like that." Jungkook smirked, pulling him impossibly closer.

"We're not alone, Jeon." Taehyung told him and pushed him away.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't notice that there's another person beside us." Jungkook giggled.

Jihoon just bowed his head to show respect to him.

"Who is he? Another partner again, Detective Kim?" Jungkook asked, scanning Jihoon's features.

"You don't need to know." Taehyung turned around and ready to leave.

"Be careful around Detective Kim, all of his partners ended up dying because of an accident. None of them lasts long." Jungkook warned Jihoon.

Jihoon was surprised to hear that, isn't that sound threatening?

"And make sure to distant yourself from Detective Kim, who knows, next time if you don't distance yourself from him, a bullet might end up in your forehead." Jungkook grinned innocently.

"Don't listen to him, Jihoon, let's go now." Taehyung said to Jihoon.

"You know I'm not lying, Detective Kim. Next time, if this one ends up the same thing with them, makes sure to hire me, so I can be your partner instead. We surely can do a lot of stuff together." Jungkook retorted.

Taehyung shook his head and leave the office with Jihoon following behind him. Well, Jungkook is right, Jihoon is Taehyung's 5th partner right now. His 4 partners died due to an accident.

And since then, Taehyung didn't accept any partners, believing that he is a curse when it comes to a partner. It's unexplainable why they died after a month of being Taehyung's partner. It just happened out of nowhere.

"Should I cross him out as a suspect, sir?" Jihoon asked Taehyung while they were inside the elevator.

"No, you won't cross anyone to them until they submit their evidence. I'm sure at least one of them is the serial killer." Taehyung told him.

"But sir, how about Mr. Jeon's alibi? If he's saying the truth, then his evidence will be quite sexual. I mean, I'm just concerned about you, sir." Jihoon stated.

"He's lying, there's no way he's saying the truth. He's an asshole thinking he could trick me." Taehyung retorted.

"He sounds like not lying at all, sir. I can sense that he is genuine with his alibi. Besides, he's somewhat detailed in his information, too." Jihoon explained.

"Don't believe whatever comes out of his mouth, he's a pervert bastard that knows nothing but humiliates himself." Taehyung said and looked at him.

"If that's what you say, sir, I believe in you." Jihoon just agreed to Taehyung.

"Make sure to contact or email them about their evidence. Give them to me once they give something to you." Taehyung ordered Jihoon and walked out of the elevator.

"I understand, sir." Jihoon watched him leave the elevator.

Jihoon sighed and shook his head, now he had to do his duty.

"He's still investigating, I guess he badly wants to solve it."

"Just let him be, he won't find anything. He will just waste his entire life to solve this case."

"Are you certain, sir, that they won't speak?"

"Don't worry, no one will speak about me. I will end their lives if they ever tried to. In just one flick of my finger, I can end them."

"If you said so, sir, I just don't want this to mess up knowing the election is about to come. I don't want to lose my reputation in front of many people. I am being careful, sir."

"I know, you don't have to worry about it. All you need to do is to listen to me, that's it. And you will be safe and the position you desire will be yours."

"Thank you, sir, I appreciate it so much."

The call ended with a smile on someone's face.
