Hello. My name is Kaitlyn. I USED to have loving parents, loving relatives, and loving friends.
But I've always had bad behavior, and I've been expelled from school for the second time. That's when my parents had it; they sent me to Eden Orphan Home.
Now I had no loving family, no loving relatives, and no loving friends. Because, technically, I moved away.
As of now, I'm in the car driving to my soon to be new home.
AAAANDDDD we just got there. I got out of the car with a frown on my face.
The place looked like it was built in 1875 or something. It was a big brick building surrounded by berry bushes, and some lovely little spots around the building to have fun. That made me embarrassed. I didn't want to live in a run down old orphan home.
"Bye, devious child. Good luck getting adopted." My mom said as she got in the car with my dad, and they drove away.
I was standing there looking at the building. I knew I had to walk up to it. I slowly walked up to it and knocked on the huge wooden doors.
A lady opened the door slowly. She must've been a maid. I heard there are maids at this place.. ew.
"Welcome! You must be.. Kaitlyn?" She said joyfully.
I nodded with a frown still on my face.
"Ok, come on inside. Breakfast is about to start. But first.." she looked down at my black shirt and shorts.
"You need a uniform, dear." She said.
I almost gagged. A UNIFORM?! I hate those things! I wondered what they would look like in a run down old orphan home.
She walked me into the bathroom and pointed to 3 little rooms in the restroom.
"Shower if needed and choose a uniform of your choice, dear." She said, leaving the room.
I looked at the uniforms. They were hideous. There was one with brown straps, one with red straps, and 3 other ones I forgot what they looked like.
I chose the red one with a white skirt. I looked like a girl from 1921.
Just then, I heard what sounded like a stampede of children running down a marble hallway. Then the intercom came on.
"As some of you may know, it's breakfast time. So head to the cafeteria and get in the line. Thank you!" The intercom beeped and went off.
Unlike the other kids, I walked towards the cafeteria. I didn't really pay attention to this "line" the nurse on the intercom was talking about. And then I realized..
There was 4 sections infront of a window, where mini lines of kids were standing.
I got in the shortest one.
As of this couldn't get more embarrassing, I bumped into the girl infront of me. She turned around and looked at me.
"Are you new? Haven't seen you before.." she said, looking me from head to toe.
"Just got here.." I said.
"Omg, cool! Can I tell you about this place?" She said.
Great. An excited one.
"Sure."
"First off, the milk here is spoiled and will make you go crazy if you drink enough of it! Then, the nur-"
"Woah, slow down." I said. Spoiled milk that makes you go insane? I think she meant make you sick.
"And yes, it's a special kind of spoiled milk. Most kids drink it purposely. Those are called psycho orphans." She told me. "And of course, the nurses say you have to go bed when they say so or you'll be hit with a wooden stick and sent to a cell with other kids without being fed for the rest of the night. That's just a rumor though."
When she said it was just a rumor, I heaved a sigh of relief. That was being yelled at but 10x worse.
When it was my turn in line, I grabbed the food and was about to walk way when the maid said:
"Do you want milk dear?"
I nodded no and sat down.
I ate fast and then ran out of the cafeteria. I then noticed there was a library. I liked to read books. That was a checkmark.
"No running please!" The nurse shouted at me.
I ignored her.
Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all.
