As the trio arrived in the small town, the moon now having overtaken the skies, they looked around them in awe. The stars shone softly over the town, making it appear haunting, yet beautiful. As the cart bumped to a stop, the dust the cart had caused caught up to the inhabitants. Marlin and Rain coughed, sand invading their lungs.

"Where are we?" Marlin questioned the driver.

"Town." Yuliab shrugged, refusing to elaborate further.

"What town?" Marlin asked, now annoyed.

"A town" Yuliab once again answered as vaguely as he could.

"I give up" Marlin sighed, then jumped off the cart, helping Rain, who had a much more graceful landing, down second.

Yuliab waltzed toward the entrance of the wooden building in front of them. The building itself had the mystique of an abandoned restaurant, moss growing on the walls, the vines entangled on the bits of the roof that stuck out of place.

Yuliab, who was in front of the girls, opened the door, and disappeared behind it. Marlin quickly followed, Rain being dragged behind her. Marlin pushed the door fully open, and was surprised by how unstable and rickety it was. Barely still on its hinges, and the wood rotting, the door very obviously had little time left.

The light was dim, and flickered constantly. Yuliab was to the side, discussing something with someone whom the girls assumed to be the owner of the run-down shack.

"Ah yes, of course, thank you!" Yuliab said while turning away. He walked back to the girls, giving them a key.

"What?" Rain questioned.

"The key to you girls' room" Yuliab smiled

Marlin and Rain looked around.

"Well I guess it's better than wet grass and some tent that would probably fall if you blew hard enough on it." Marlin sighed

"Hey! I spent two hours making that tent!" Yuliab muttered, quite obviously offended.

Marlin rolled her eyes.

"Let's go Rain." She said.

Marlin grabbed Rain's hand, and pulled her towards the steps while Rain tried apologizing for her friend's disrespect.

When the girls made it to their room after climbing the steps that were bound to break within the next few weeks to come, they tested the door. Sure enough, it was just as rickety, if not more, than the front door.

"Well let's just hope nobody tries to rob us." Rain said worriedly.

"Rain. Be honest. Would anyone ever try to rob this place?" Marlin looked over at Rain.

"Well.. ok you got me there." Rain chuckled as she entered the room.

Rain and Marlin played a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors to decide who would sleep on the floor, and who would get the bed. Rain won, and Marlin went to go get an extra thin-as-paper blanket to use for a bed.

When the lights were off and the girls were finally under their blankets, or in Marlins case, on top of,  they heard a noise. A thunk and shatter from downstairs.

"'Who would want to rob this place?'" Rain mimicked Marlin.

Marlin stuck her tongue out at Rain, and slowly crept to the door, trying to unlock it with the key, failing, throwing the rusty thing behind her, and breaking the door open. Rain followed, and tried to look through the crack. Neither of them could see anything so Marlin slowly opened the squeaky door fully, flinching at the sound.

When the girls looked over at the door of Yuliabs room, they saw that he had also heard the commotion, and was now leaning out of his door frame to see what had happened. Yuliab looked over at the girls in surprise, and quickly lifted a finger to his mouth.

"Shhhhh." He whispered.

"You are literally the only one making sound-" Marlin looked at him in confusion.

"Shhhhhh!" Yuliab hushed again, this time more urgent.

"Fine." Marlin mumbled, Rain snickering to the side.

The clatter sounded again downstairs, instantly stealing their attention once more. Yuliab slowly inched out of his door frame, stepping as gently and quietly as he could on the creaking planks. When the shrieking of the planks continued, even with as gently as he was stepping, he rolled his eyes.

"Oh forget this." He muttered. He seemed to really like muttering recently.

Yuliab stopped his quiet journey across the squeaky floor, and instead started running as fast as he could, past the three other rooms, down the stairs, and into the downstairs area, where Rain and Marlin could no longer see him, the floor screeching loud enough to wake every person in the surrounding area. If there were any.

Marlin and Rain looked at each other, and nodded. They both ran in the direction Yuliab had gone, and arrived to see him cornering a man who looked about thirty, maybe forty.

"Wow, I guess someone would actually try to rob this dump.." Marlin said in shock.

Rain sat in horror, shaking madly.

"Hey! Hey, it's ok!" Marlin comforted.

As Marlin looked over, she saw the man in the air for a second. She blinked. He was still in the air. She blinked a few more times, even rubbing her eyes. He was still levitat- oh. Ohhhh.

Marlin looked over to Yuliab. She was right, it was him doing this. So he wasn't lying about how he saved them. She heard a thud, and saw that the man had been dropped to the ground. He was knocked out, but would surely wake up soon.

"Well, I guess it's time to get back to the cart." Yuliab sighed.

The girls simultaneously groaned. They hadn't even gotten a wink of sleep. They headed back to the cart, each person taking their seat. Yuliab had left a small bit of cash on the counter for pay, but that would probably be stolen by the robber when he awoke.

They would have done more to turn him in, but there wasn't really a place to turn him in here. Come to think of it, the robber and that owner were the only signs of life here that made it seem less like a ghost town.

Then again, Rain looked back to the shack, only for it to have disappeared. She shook Marlin, who turned around in question, then looked up, and was immediately puzzled by the disappearance of the pile of wood.

Marlin called for Yuliab, and he didn't see it either when he turned around. They all sat in awe as they looked back to the hotel that was no longer there.

Yuliab tapped the horse on the side again. He once again mumbled, "Well this has surely been a night."
