It's all real

The forest flew by as the car silently sped by the engine silently humming , my gaze lingered in the undergrowth obscured by the fog that hung in the morning air.
The cold surface of the car window prevented my limited attention span from slipping away from the matter at hand.

We had crossed the gates of the institute awhile back and I could already see the looming castle at the distance in all it's majestic beauty . I wasn't sad although I doubt I could identify any feelings if they looked me in the eye. What I felt was relief like a weight was removed from my chest and now I could breath easily, all my friends and anyone else I considered important to me was already enrolled in the institute. At least I had people I could trust there.

I think my reluctance to enroll was partially due to fear and just plain ol' stubbornness...not that I'd admit to any of the two.

My best friends and the closest people I had to siblings were students there ,I had to make sure they weren't cheating on me in this school. And to escape my aunt's nagging.

My reverie was broken when the engine fell silent and the driver cleared his throat.
"We're here "

I hummed in acknowledgement as a valet opened my door and helped me out,unlike the forest around the institute with it's foggy air and eerie silent nature the sun was up high in the surprisingly clear skies . Birds were out and about , butterflies transversing the colourful garden.

My attention was brought back to the male standing at the top of the short staircase that led to the main door . He was dressed in a sleek suit and leather loafers.

He offered me a slight smile and beckoned at me, not wanting to seem rude...which I mostly am....but to day is a new day ....anywayyy...

Nervous energy began rolling off him in waves the closer I got to him....

'Light fae'
My demon hissed in my head...

I stopped a good distance from him not to seem threatening.... ironically....

'since when do you take other people's feelings into consideration...hmmm?' my demon mocked but I ignored her and focused on the guy who seemed to have swallowed his tongue when he was exposed to my aura.

"Cat got your tongue sugar?" I asked amused when he sputtered nonsensically.
"Right this way.... Ms ..?" He asked seemingly out of his comfort zone.

"Rogers...Ruin Rogers" I answered my voice slightly vibrating at the low tenor and slight husk from not talking too often...

" Aah...yes Ms Ruin ,this way please . You are just in time for the opening assembly" he rambled as he escorted me through the arching doorway through random halls and finally infront of  to double doors . Random voices slipped beneath the door frame.
I stood there silently ,lips pursed as I thought about the hundreds of eyes that were going to be on me the moment the doors open....my companion on the other hand paid no heed to my sudden reluctance and pushed the door open with flourish....

Silence....

You could hear a pin drop...

"Ruin!"
A familiar voice screeched making my eyes snap up to the occupants of the room from where I was busy drilling holes into the back of my escorts head...pun intended...

"Candy" I answered back with much less enthusiasm...

"Rogers?!" Another surprised voice resonated though the still silent hall...

"Winefield.." I muttered my energy sources dropping to an all time low

'here we go.'  I would have snotted at my demons comment if a screeching duo of over excited young adults didn't obscured my vision jumping up and down like a bunch of over grown five-year-olds no offense to all the five year olds out there....
