Halfway through, I forgot I was reading for the sake of reviewing. I fell into the story and allowed it to swallow me up. Because I was so caught up in the story, I was unable to catch any errors--perhaps because there aren't any. So, I'll just skip that and give my thoughts on chapter one.

In short, I LOVE it.

What do I love? All of it. The language is accurate. The storytelling is a perfect blend of show and tell. The imagery is...I'm speechless. I love vivid imagery, anything that pulls me into a scene within a text is likely to get my applause--I'm dreamy like that.

For instance, there's a line that resonates with me, "She imagined the spray of yellow mucus and spit...." I was sick all of last week, and I had a moment where I sneezed and thought "That's gross," because I visualized thick yellow mucus spraying into the air. So, the relatability is there.

Also, the themes of death, impending death, and fear are themes I've dealt with on a personal level. I appreciate that LucyAnnWrites isn't melodramatic about these things. Her depiction is realistic and balanced.

Was I hooked? No, I AM hooked.

I can't wait to read the next chapter ^_^.
