I walk quickly, through the crowd of inmates now filing the hallway, many of whom moved out of my way when they saw me coming. Heading straight towards Duke's cell knowing he'll be waiting for me there.
Pushing through the last clump of inmates standing in front of Duke's door I barge in, practically dragging Sophia and Sam thought the crowd behind me.
"Duke," the disgust in my voice is more than evident as I pull my cell mates up beside me.
"Ah there she is!!!" He yells looking a bit high (probably is), "my little fighter!!" Duke always thought that I should have been sent down with the other fighters. I roll my eyes trying not to say anything that could end with my face getting kicked in.
"Duke this is Sam and Sophia, new trainers," I deicide to add on the end just in case he's that high. Duke smiles almost warmly at Sophia before turning to glare at Sam. Poor kid he had to be put in the se cell as me.
The last dude who was put in my cell ended up shanked in the hallways durning one of the fights. Every one new Duke was the one who had set it up but no one dared to bring it up to him. Duke seems to have the impression that I'm his.
I step slight over in front of Sam to cut Dukes line of sight off of him and to return to me. "Rach, I believe you know what to do with them, and would you take care of the three others too." To anyone else it would sound as though he's truly asking me, but I learned from experience that it's not a question.
Smiling sweetly at him, I turn around grabbing Sophia's and Sam's arms to tug them through the throng of inmates outside and head to the cell the three other new bees where placed in.
I walk in closely followed by Sam and Sophia to find one of them knocked out leaning against the toilet, a boy, and the other two ,girls, sitting on the bottom bunk, clearly unsure about what they should be doing.
One of the girls looks up at me as I step forward, I kick the boy awake then step back,"Follow me," I turn right around not bother to make sure the three follow me as I step out into the clearing hallway.
I push past the few inmates still standing around outside their cells or in their cells. This prison is more like a high school then a prison most of the time. I make it to trough the water tight doors without banging my shins or my head.
I'm about to go around the corner when I hear a clanging thud, and muttered cures soon followed by a few laughs. Turning around I see Sam sprawled out half out the door and half in. A smile tugged at my lips as i suppressed the laugh trying to escape.
I hold my hand out towards him as I state, "That ladies and gentleman is a perfect example of how not to go through a door inside of a ship." I try not to laugh as the few inmates left in the hallways leading to the canteen laugh.
Sam glares up at me as I finally lose control and bend over from laugh so hard. "Ha ha," he laughs humorously, "That was so funny," the sarcasm in his voice only making it all that much more funnier.
I finally calm down enough to offer Sam my hand, he glares at it for a few seconds before he finally grasp it and I pull him up. Still slightly chuckling from his little accident Sophia and the three other inmates follow me as I set off down the hall with Sam right behind me.
As we reach another door way I turn and whisper to Sam quietly, "Make sure to duck your head idiot." I laugh quietly as though the groups of large people in the other room would be able to hear my laugh over the clamor of noise their making.
Sam just scowls at me as I let my smile drop and I rearrange my face into one of defiance and indifference. "Remember do whatever I say and shut the fuck up," I glare at Sophia knowing how loud she can be sometimes.
I turn around back towards the door and the canteen before I step though the door. This will be one interesting dinner, I thought as I took in the scene before me.
