Talking to a Friend

Darius's POV:

I woke up. My head hurt. I probably should have got some sleep last night. Oh well. I decided I had to talk to someone. Not Brooklynn, she's been awful to me ever since Mitch and Tiff, escaped. Or at least Tiff did. Not Ben, definitely not him. Kenji wouldn't understand and would probably tell everyone. Maybe Sammy and Yaz. They seem like they could...help.

I walked off looking for Sammy and Yaz. As usual, they were together. They were best friends. ''Hey guys.'' I said.

''Hi Darius. What are you doing?'' They said together. ''Um could I...talk to you...in private.'' I said.

''Okay sure.'' Sammy said seemingly not catching on. Yaz however looked at me excitedly. Did she know? 

We walked for a while. We told the others we were going to look for food. I finally plucked up the courage and said, ''Um so I kind of have a crush on someone. I need your...''

''Advice?'' Yaz finished my sentence. She looked even more excited than earlier. ''I knew it!!'' she said. ''Wait what?'' Sammy looked confused. ''You knew Yaz? Why didn't anybody tell me? I was so confused but hang on.... I'm so happy for you Darius!!! Who is it? Is it one of us? Me, Brooklynn, Kenji....um...um....um....um....Ben?'' she said excitedly. I froze when she said Ben and felt my face go red.

''It's Ben isn't it?'' Yaz said teesingly. I once again felt my face go red. ''I knew it!!'' she said.

Ben's POV:

Darius, Sammy and Yaz left a while ago to look for food. I was a little bit disappointed that I wasn't invited. I decided to just go and look for Bumpy. I told Kenji and Brooklynn. She decided she was going to come as well. 

We walked for a while until we reached a section of the river. I was hot and thirsty so I decided to have a drink and a swim. I swam around for a while and Brooklynn did too. We eventually continued onwards until we saw a........building?

We found a lab in the middle of the jungle? ''Huh?'' I said. ''Why is that here?''

''I don't know.'' Brooklynn said. We decided we may as well take a look inside. When we stepped into the lab, I immediately got hit with a cold wind. We both shivered. I guess Brooklynn felt it too. Something important used to be here. I could tell. I just didn't know what.

We walked for a while around the lab until we reached a door with scratches on it that was labelled E750. Brooklynn sort of shrieked when she saw that. She had been yapping about this for ages. Whatever was in there, we were going in.

Darius's POV: (also sorry for the short Ben POV)

We all walked back towards camp. When we got back only Kenji was there. ''Where's Brooklynn and Ben?'' I asked

''They went to look for Bumpy.'' he replied. 

''Oh ok!'' I shouted up at him.

We had to get stuff packed up soon for the boat ride to Costa Rica on Tiff and Mitch's old yacht. We'll do it when they get back. 

Yaz was looking at me expectantly.''What are you doing Yaz??''

''Oh nothing. Just wondering when you're gonna tell you know who, about you know what.'' she replied.

''I'll do it when I'M ready, not when you are.'' I hissed back.

She rolled her eyes and walked off. I dozed off for a few minutes.

Ben's POV:

We opened the door and stepped inside. I was confused by what I saw. There was paperwork everywhere and things thrown about the place in a mess. We walked forward and Brooklynn saw a laptop on a table. ''Yes! This is it!! Ever since I went sneaking in Dr Wu's lab I've been waiting to find out what E750 is! This laptop could have everything we need to know!!'' she said. She was practically vibrating on the seat, she was that excited. 

''Ok, Superstar. Go ahead.'' I said. She opened the laptop and clicked on a folder named E750. Once again, she shrieked with excitement. In the folder, were a bunch of videos of Dr Wu. She clicked on the first one labelled 'Log Entry No. 1.' Dr Wu mentioned something about the tests on the asset going fine. In Log Entry No. 2, he said ''E750 or the Scorpios Rex will be ready for more tests soon.'' He also referred to it as a hybrid. When we heard that word we froze. Brooklynn clicked on the next one. This one was labelled 'Classified'. Dr Wu was speaking when all of a sudden something leaped out of nowhere and jumped onto him. The camera cut just as someone said, ''Get me the antidote, QUICK!!''

Again me and Brooklynn, looked at each other in horror. ''Do you think...?'' she said

''It can't be. Not another hybrid.'' I said. She reluctantly clicked on the final video, labelled 'Log Entry No. 3.' In this one, Dr Wu said he had frozen the Scorpios Rex in cryogenic suspension so it couldn't harm anyone else until he figured out what to do with it. We looked at each other and stood up. ''Good thing he froze it.'' I said. Brooklynn started to nod before she looked behind me and her mouth gaped open. She gasped. ''What it is?'' I asked nervously. She struggled to speak and just pointed behind me. I turned around and gasped too. The cryogenic chamber...it melted.

Sorry for the short chapter again. I didn't really have any ideas going into this chapter so bear with me.
