Kimi's POV

I wake up in the morning, smiled at the rising sun....

But then an instinct inside me told me to closed my eyes again so I fell into my cozy pillow and nuzzled my blanket. I don't wanna wake up now!

And then a few minutes later, I heard Mother called me.

"Kimi! Wake up!!!" she shouted downstairs at the kitchen while hitting a wok with something and it was damn sonorous but still, I didn't bother to wake up. And I also heard Mother sighed and I chuckled.

"Kimi, I've made some pancakes for you~!" Mother shouted and still, I didn't bother to wake up. I didn't really liked her pancakes anyway. It felt like a rock and it's so crumbly and dry....

"Kimi, I've made some tempuras and sushi!"

I immediately woke up and jumped from my bed. I really hate on how Mother can get me to wake up. Just beacause Mother knows best!

I rised from my bed and struggled to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and washed my face with some of Mother's face wash things.

And then I rushed down the stairs and ate with Mother.

We ate silently. Mother is unexpectedly quiet today...

Something's wrong with her...

And then the silence broke when Mother started a conversation.

"Look, Kimi-" But as she was saying something to me, we both heard a loud knock from the door.

"Here. Let me help." I insisted but she halted me with her soft, smooth hand and immediately instructed me to stay by her side.

As she twisted the doorknob, I felt a sudden, strong, chakra emitted at the door. And when I stuffed my favourite ebi sushis inside my mouth, Mother's scream filled the air. And I overheard a conversation between Mother and the stranger behind the door.

"So where's your daughter that you promised me? I'm sick of this sh*t for too long..." a male voice boomed but surprisingly relaxed at the same time.

I obviously heard the conversation and I took a little bit of peek from the corner of the wall and I've got a good view of the stranger that wants to harm my mother.

And seriously, the stranger was so damn fat and short, with a weird, ugly, mask covering his face and his hair was SO old.

Giggles came out from my mouth and I started to laugh.

And of course, them two heard my laugh and when I realized that the stranger had a scorpion's tail, I immediately cupped my mouth with my hands and be silent for a moment.

"Well, well, well... look who is this?" a low voice cooed angrily and seriously and I managed to wear my cloak of invisibility. I scurried past the stranger but then, I felt my cloak was hanging on to something.

As I turned my back to see what was going on, I gasped in horror as the thing that was hanging onto me was the scorpion's tail I saw earlier and when the scorpion's tail raised higher up in the air, I shrieked and I helplessly fell down from the cloak, and I knew that I was going to die so I closed my eyes and prayed.

But after a few seconds, nothing happened to me. I waited and waited and waited to be splatted to the ground, die out of mercy.

I opened my eyes eagerly and saw myself a couples od millimetres away from the stinky carpet floor. I shot an angry glare at the stranger but the stranger surprisingly changed.

From stupid old fashioned haired to a ruffly, messy, dark red auburn hair. And from short to mediumly tall. Approximately a foot higher than me. He wears the one of the most wanted Akatsuki cloaks that I recognised. And his face.... His beautiful, moody grey eyes was unbelievably..... Addictive.

And when my brown eyes met his moody gaze, our eyes locked into each other for a while. There was a moment of silence until an 'ahem' was heard and we both saw Mother was giving a death and disapproving look to me and the stranger. We both then tried to avoid each other's eyes but my eyes caught something that is a purple-ish liquid beneath her shirt... And if I wasn't mistaken, she was poisoned! I struggled to get away from the stranger but it was too late when I noticed some blood spurted from Mother's mouth....

"Okay then, Asuna no Sasori. You've won. And I'll grantedly offered your request rather than letting you hurt a single hair of my daughter. But for my last, dying wish, there's a scroll that contains inheritance from me to my beloved daughter... At the busy streets of Iwakagure.." Mother's voice trailed softly and relaxedly.

The stranger let go of me and I ran and hugged her. Incontrollable tears ran from my face. My chin was lifted by a hand and I saw her face as she said her last words....

"Mother~know best!....."
