Ch.1-A Strange World

Knight

Another Earth

The ground rumbled as the kaiju and I fought each other in the city. The people screamed and ran in fear; the buildings shook and crumbled; and a darkness covered the sky.

"RAAGH!"

The reptilian kaiju opened its mouth and tried to bite me, but I grabbed its face and pushed it back.

"Ggh..." I let go, then I grabbed its body and tackled it into a building. "Haah!"

"Raagh..."

"Hmph!" I punched it in the face twice, then I grabbed its neck with my legs and threw the kaiju back. "Haah...!!!"

The kaiju fell to the ground and groaned, then it pushed itself up and recovered. It opens its mouth and shoots an energy beam at me, but I dodge.

"Gridknight Circular!" I cut the kaiju in half and it exploded; a shockwave pushed me back, but I managed to keep standing.

After the battle was over, the orb on my head beeped and I turned back to my human form.

I walked around the city and saw Nidaime twirling her Live Baton. Sparks flew towards the city and the damages done were now repaired.

"Oh, Knight-kun!"

"Are you alright, Nidaime?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." She turned to look at the people. "If it weren't for you, all of these people would've died."

"Indeed. So, now that we're done here, shall we leave?"

"Hold on just a sec. Don't tell me you forgot that we had to resupply."

"..."

She sighed. "Let's go, Knight-kun."

After buying food and fuel for ourselves, we went back to the Soundras ship and prepared to go back home.

"Yosh...you ready, Knight-kun?"

"Yeah."

The ship began to move and a portal opened right in front of us. We slowly entered and began to travel back to our world.

The two of us travel together beyond worlds and dimensions, taking out any kaijus that appear and repairing any damages. Once finished, we return back to our own world and plan to head towards the next.

Nidaime yawned and I looked at her. "Are you tired?"

"A little, but I should be fine."

"Kaijus like us shouldn't sleep."

"Mattaku, Knight-kun. Even so, we should still take a break once in a while."

"Hm."

She smiled and stretched. "Gotta tell Gridman that this world is okay now, then we can move on."

"Right."

"Hmm...I wonder what the next world will be-"

Suddenly, our alarms beeped and the ship slowed down. The screens flickered and everything began to shake.

"W-What is this...?"

The ship changed course and began to accelerate. It shook even more and the two of us got up from our seats.

"Woah!"

I quickly caught Nidaime. "Careful."

A light appeared in front of us and we closed our eyes as we were about to enter another world.
