She arrived in the city quite late.
Exhausted from her journey, she was too tired to unpack her bags and instead, she immediately drifted off to sleep. She felt grateful that the city was accommodating its new residents with apartments – else she might have been forced to sleep on the streets. For once, she dared to believe the possibility that her life might finally be changing for the better.
"Please let it be so," she whispered as she awoke.
She freshened up by changing into clean clothes and applying her makeup. She paused as she gazed at her reflection in the mirror. She wondered if others would once again treat her as a joke, as they had in the past.
"No," she reminded herself firmly. "This is who you are now. This has always been you."
"Forget trying to fit in with the society," She whispered as she drew hearts on her cheeks. She smiled at her reflection, pleased with the outcome she had achieved.
She promised never to remove her hearts once more.

"Okay...here goes nothing," she said to herself, feeling a mixture of nervousness and excitement.
She took a deep breath and stepped outside her apartment, ready to embark on a new chapter in her life.
"Hi there!"
She cheerfully waved at a person passing by, eager to make a connection in her new city. However, the person didn't even acknowledge her presence, breezing past her like the wind. The young woman's heart raced with anxiety, and she clutched her chest.
Making her way to the elevator, she apologized after accidentally running into someone else who was entering.
'People here move quickly,' She couldn't help but notice and she felt overwhelmed.
She does not know where she should start – heck, she does not even know what she should do first. Nevertheless, she was determined to make the most of her new life in Los Santos.
As she stepped out of her apartment and onto the bustling street, she was met with a lively and energetic atmosphere that took her by surprise. Walking aimlessly through the city, she took in the sights and sounds of her new home. However, her nerves got the better of her when she turned a corner and she stumbled into a stranger, causing their coffee to spill, and quickly apologized.
"I'm so sorry, it was my fault," she apologized.
"It's okay," he forgave her with a smile. "So, I've never seen you around here before. Are you new in the city?"
"Yes, I just arrived last night," she confirmed.
"Well, welcome to Los Santos! I've been here for a while now and know my way around pretty well. I'd be happy to show you around if you need any help getting settled," he offered eagerly.
She was grateful for the kind offer and couldn't help but feel relieved that she had met such a friendly person in a new place. Perhaps he might be able to show her the ropes in this new city.
She sincerely hopes so.
"Really? That's so kind of you. I'd love to take you up on your offer," she replied with gratitude.
"Great! By the way, my name is Garrett. Garrett Jobless. Nice to meet you!" He extended his hand in greeting.
"April Fooze."
