Rei wakes up to Miri's faded childish laughter. He brings himself to step out of the bathtub he regularly spends his nights in. His feet feel heavy and he remains drowsy for the most part, today is going to be taxing after all. He walks to the kitchen to find Kazuki running after Miri.

Kazuki yells after the young girl "Miri, wait! I need that to finish preparing breakfast!"

She runs laps around the man, she's quite good at it since this is a game she likes to play on the regular. She makes her way to the oppisite side of the couch before her eyes light up,

"Papa Rei!!" She says with a big smile across her face.

She pounces at the hardly-awake Rei, and he looks down to see her clinging to his right leg. He picks Miri up and takes whatever it was she had been carrying in her small hands too. It was several peices of chopped carrot and and a  qaurter of an onion, Rei gives Kazuki a bit of a tired glance before handing him the various vegetables.

"Thank you, she's been a handfull all morning." He says with a grateful sigh.

Rei takes a seat by the table after placing the girl beside him. Miri is clearly annoyed with the idea of having to walk on her own legs, but she just glares at him.

"Rei-" Kazuki pauses his cooking for a second "- I've talked to Kyu-chan about a job for today already, I'll talk to you more about it after we're done eating."

Rei looks at Kazuki, nodding his head in recognition of his words. He lets his eyes linger on him for a second, Kazuki's slight smile as he works hard to make a satisfying meal. He does it every morning. "Thanks." Rei says in a quiet voice as the family sits down together

"Hm- what was that?"  Kazuki says in awe.

"...I said thanks"

He jumps up with a grin, proud to see his shabby roommate finally admire his above average culinary skills. Though Kazuki tends to get easily annoyed  with Rei's dull and blunt phrases, he loves when his efforts are acknowledged, even if it's a rare occurence. Infact, this was one of  the very few times his partner has said anything like that on his own. Naturally he takes advantage of the moment.

"Sorry, I don't think I heard what you said..." The ends of his mouth curl into a mischevious smile as he throws his arm over Rei's shoulder.

"Don't do that." Says Rei, shrugging his shoulders as he truns his face away.

"Do what?" He teases. Rei looks back to see his boastful expression, it looks good on him. His blonde hair in his face, eyes gleaming. This was his friend, his colleague, his partner through many exhausting missions. This was the Kazuki he liked most.

Rei felt a slight redness rush to his face. He tilted his head down to face his plate before answering one more time. "....Thank you."

After breakfast, Kazuki helps Miri to daycare. First he makes sure she dresses properly for it, taking note of what Anna, one of the daycare's employees, told him last he went there. Miri scoops up her bag before placing her hand in his and walking out the door, she waves gently to Rei. They each seat themselves nicely on the family bicycle. While that happens, Rei decides to clean the few dishes remaining. He walks over to the sink with the plates in hand. This is about as helpful as he usually is.

Though he dislikes going out for the most part, he maintains a physical routine. Between keeping his cardio up to par and the rest of him well exercised, he cleans and checks equipment. His partner doesn't typically use firearms, they both have skill sets that allow there jobs to be more flexible. He typically only manages his own, but seeing as Kazuki took Miri today, he'll take on some of the other gadgetry.
