PRUDENCE (SCREENPLAY)

FICTIONAL STORY "PRUDENCE"

PLOT: PRUDENCE; a lion tamer at BRO CIRCUS; grows tired of the animal abuse suffered by other lion tamers. She plans an escape from her job; living a better life with friendly lions...

LOCATIONS: GEORGETOWN: where BRO circus is mainly based and run; vibrant city; busy-like; cars; trams everywhere...

CHARACTERS:
- PRUDENCE: blonde hair, blue eyes, lion fanatic, animal lover, lion tamer at BRO CIRCUS, confident, determined, lean weights
- TODD: Prudence' father; grey hair, blue eyes, accountant, loving, caring
- PIERCE: bully at BROS Circus; lion tamer; competitive; dislikes PRUDENCE, brown hair, green eyes, muscular,
- LUCY & LYON: lion and lioness

INT. BROS CIRCUS SHOW - GEORGETOWN

(FADE IN: BROS. CIRCUS the show at GEORGETOWN begins - trapezium acts, aerial acts, and contortion acts begin at the show. The crowd applauds at the various acts of the show. CLOWN JERKY in full clown attire; with green clown makeup - enters the stage; and addresses the crowd in a comical voice)

CLOWN JERKY
(comically; addresses crowd) Hello... everyone... Clown Jerky here... Before the wild cats come... Juggle time...

(CLOWN JERKY begins his bounce juggling act with 10 balls. The crowd applauds CLOWN JERKY for his performance; and cheer him on)

CLOWN JERKY
(comically; addresses crowd) You want more... you want more crowd... okay... Let's bring on another ball...

(An employee throws CLOWN JERKY another juggling ball; CLOWN JERKY catches the ball whilst continuing to juggle the remaining 10 balls. The crowd then continues to clap at the clown's amazing performance. He finishes the act 5 mins later; and bows down in applause)

CLOWN JERKY
(comically; addresses crowd) Thank you... Thank you people... You lovely people...

(CLOWN JERKY exits the circus stage. 5 seconds later - PIERCE enters the circus stage with a lioness named LUCY and a lion called LYON. Pierce entertains the crowd)

PIERCE
(addresses crowd) Hello all... As you can see... we have got lions. MEET OUR LION named LYONS....

(The crowd take a closer look at the muscular lion name LYONS)

PIERCE
(cont'd) OUR BIG STRONG muscular lion who is going to perform trick for you lovely people tonight... This shall be interesting... (shows off LUCY) And this our lioness is named LUCY... she's been with us from the very start of BROS Circus... She is a most loyal lioness... (smiles to LUCY & LYONS) Now let's show the crowd what you both are made of... let's do this...

(Both LYONS AND LUCY roar as they do not like PIERCE. The crowd is in awe. PIECE pulls a whip out; instructing both the lion and lioness to perform each of their individual circus tricks. They do so out of fear at the whip. The audience is stunned and amused by the tricks posed by both LYONS and LUCY. The audience clap in delight and amazement. MEANWHILE - Prudence backstage - is against using the whip in forcing lion tricks. She looks in disgust)

PRUDENCE
(annoyed to herself) DON'T USE the WHIP. There's got to be another way... not this... This is strictly animal abuse... I... we can train the lions another way...

(PIECE continues using the whip to instruct both LYONS and LUCY to perform their individual circus tricks. The audience further looks in delight and amazement of the circus act. PRUDENCE remains backstage; with a disgusted look on her face; at PIERCE's use of a whip. PIECE finishes the act 5 minutes later; and bows down in applause of the crowd)

PIERCE
(smiles to crowd) Thank you... Thank you for attending BROS CIRCUS... We are glad you are here and you liked the show... Thank you very much...
