The first eclipse ball

For many, tonight is a night of celebration and new beginnings but for Cecilia—it's a night for vindication. She doesn't plan on staying at this school any longer than she needs to. His family have been missing for four years and this headmaster, Edwin Winston knows exactly where they are.

She knows it.

This land she stands on, after all this time, is the land she grew up on. It's her family's land—at least it was until Edwin bought it. But Cecilia knew her father, she knew he would never sell his land. The Lorvina's have owned this land for centuries. And the land wouldn't be bought without a fight. Cecilia bore witness to the very first encounter between Edwin and her father. Even Cecilia at thirteen saw just how clear her father was about not selling the land.

And yet, a month later when Cecilia was back at boarding school in London, the land was sold and her family had vanished.

But now, Cecilia's family home is now a boarding school in Scotland. It's all so strange to Cecilia but tonight she will get answers. She misses her little brother and sister and she wants so badly to hug her mother and hear her father's sweet voice again. But it's been four years.

Fours years of misery and confusion.

So, Cecilia walks into the ball wearing a pretty, sparkling white dress and with vengeance on her conscious. The music is an eerie piano melody and it echoes around the great hall. Angelwoods very first students dance in pairs, a waltz of dazzling dresses and colourful suits.

Cecilia walks straight through.

Professors stand at a stand in a world of their own, talking to one another, and getting to know each other. Preparing to start their teaching and life at this new boarding school and yet they have no idea they are standing on her land.

It's a hall of smiles and glee but it's all lies.

This was where she once played with her siblings and where once was a grand house where she lived. But that was all gone now and Cecilia was left with nothing but memories.

Cecilia knew she has to keep a clear head and not let her emotions get in her way. So she slips out the letter Edwin had left her and read it for the seventh time.

Cecilia,
I hear you have requested a sheltered word with me. As your headmaster, I would be more than pleased to talk with you. I'd love to welcome you formally this evening at the ball. I hope, the very first of many balls Angelwood will be holding. I'll be on the balcony at midnight waiting for you. The view of tonight's eclipse will be exquisite from there.

Edwin Winston
P.S. If  I'd known you were a Lorvina I would have greeted you myself.

At midnight she will have her answers.

And if she was to be truthful, she was utterly terrified.

Cecilia | 1998

This has been her life for ninety-nine year's and never has Cecilia had control like she just did. She chose not to touch that boy—that handsome white-haired wolf. It was hard but Cecilia chose not to kill that boy.

She had free will.

Something was inside her—a feeling—it was telling her—no, warning her not to kill him. To leave him be. And now she is growing weaker because the longer she is without the blood of her victims, the more pain she is in. The hunger—it is unbearable. It is the thing that keeps her heart beating.

And even though Cecilia wishes her heart would stop beating—this curse forces her to keep going. Forever she is stuck like this and she is tired. It's only been ninety nine years of that forever and Cecilia hopes to any God up above the water that forever is short.

This is hell and she wants free.

But how. . .she will never know. There is no way to learn of an escape. She is stuck.

That night, ninety-nine years ago, she was supposed to find answers but instead, she ended up cursed. She just wanted her family back but instead found herself alone.

In the depths of the lake, under a rocky cave, Cecilia hid and her tail rippled the cold water. And she was hungry. There was a pit inside of her that needed filling. It grew darker with desire the longer she was without blood.

She was a fool to let that wolf run free. If he is stupid enough to come back she will ignore any warning and tear him apart until he is nothing more than bloody ribbons.
