Diona: "......"
Y/N: "...Um... Diona?"
"H-Huh?!"
We sat in the interrogation room once more, Diona tiredly sitting across from myself. Diona's head would occasionally bob up and down as she fell in and out of consciousness.
I couldn't say I wasn't tired either. I woke up early for school, completely forgetting that I was affiliated with Diona, however ever since Jean told me to pick up Diona I've been in a rush, despite her not even arriving on time...
Hell of a way to start a morning.
Y/N's Flashback
I walked into class, sitting in my seat next to Rosaria's. As always, she had her head on her desk, attempting to sleep through the lesson until she could look over to me for answers.
Her school outfit consisted of a lengthy skirt and a buttoned-up, long-sleeved shirt that had a tie wrapped around the collar despite the school dress code detailing that girls had to wear bow ties. The existence of a school dress code, despite being in a university, was outrageous to begin with. Not even most colleges have dress codes, let alone universities.
I guess that's what I get for coming to a religious school to study detective work. I haven't even done any 'detective' like activities since our homeroom teacher got killed.
Speaking of that, Jean told me that the cop's motivation for the murder of our homeroom teacher was because he failed the class back when he was a student. I guess studying never crossed his mind back then...
Rosaria: "I'm counting on you for this one." She passed me her notebook.
Y/N: "You make me take the notes for every class, not just this one..."
"Bah, whatever." She went back to laying her head down on her desk.
I opened my notebook, along with Rosaria's, and prepared myself for the onslaught of hand-numbing notes. However, before I could even take my pencil out of my bag, a certain someone came into the room.
It was Jean, loudly pronouncing herself for the entire classroom to hear.
Jean: "Y/N!"
Lisa, who was still our substitute teacher for the time being, silenced the classroom so that Jean could speak. Of course, it didn't take Lisa's words to quiet the room, the presence of the Acting Chief of Police was enough.
After Jean yelled out my name, I nervously stood up from my seat so that she could see me.
Y/N: "Couldn't be any louder, huh?"
Jean: "What, are you embarrassed? Grow up, we've got work to do." She held the door open for me, indicating that I should go with her.
I leaned over to Rosaria, whispering,
Y/N: "Looks like you're the one taking notes this time."
She groaned silently, taking her notebook back as well as my own. I quickly made my way to the front door to leave with Jean, passing by the staring gazes of the students around me.
I assumed they were staring because of the fact an officer was calling for a student, which could mean nothing good (and I agree with them).
Regardless, I left the classroom with Jean, and we speed-walked down the hallways of the school as we spoke.
