I hired him about a year ago and I've really grown fond of him. He worked in my manson for a while before I redirected him to work over at the warehouse, I didn't expect they'd get attacked and I never expected to lose anyone

I wipe my tears with a tissue

I hoped to sleep though the whole thing but then a memory came to my mind and I couldn't stop the tears that started falling

Most times, I just consider firing everyone and work by myself because I couldn't stand losing them but they don't want to leave

My door slightly opens and Pablo pokes his head in

"I knew you'd be like this" He sighs and closes the door behind him as he enters

I wipe my nose and look up at him

"I can't even ask if you're alright, why didn't you let Victoria stay?" He walks towards me and sits beside me on the bed

I shrugged "there wasn't really any need" I whispered

He takes one of my hand in his before saying

"Please relax"

"Pablo I'm...I'm not prone to things like this, I'm still human" I wipe my eyes

"I know but this is really inevitable, we work in the Mafia, death could come at anytime " he says

"I rather it came to me than you guys"

"Yeah we won't let that happen" he says with all sincerity

I scoff "I kill like it's a game and mess around with the most brutal men in this business, I dominate Mafia business that I know is risky to deal with, but I can't deal with deaths of my men"

I look down at the tissue in my hand

"You should be asleep" I inform before looking up at him

"Not when I knew you'd be crying" he ruffles my hair

I frowned

"I'm not a kid, I'm 25"

"And I'm 26" he smiled

"But I'm your boss and I say go to bed"

He raising his hand showing he surrenders

"Alright boss I'm off to bed, but try to get some sleep, Elister won't want you worrying over him"

My lips curved into a slight smile and I nod before he stepped out

I couldn't bring El back so I'll do the next best thing

"We pulled out the recording from the tape" Frank placed the recorder before me on my desk

"Were there any finger prints?" I asked him

"No"

I pick up the recorder and press the play button

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you shadow walker, I apologise for our second encounter ending up like this but things are always bloody in the Mafia life. Don't bother trying to find me cause just like you, I'm untraceable. I'm not ranging war on you but I do have something you might have wanted, The Black Diamond." And there were some slight noises before the recording ended

I immediately sprang to my feet

People came up with the name shadow walker because i always do my things but never ever leave a trace and never get caught and also because no one knew who i was or how I sounded, there's always a voice changer everytime i made a business call. But just like me, this bastard never showed his face, never let his real voice be heard, never leaves traces, but I knew it was a man

We've had an encounter before and that was when I stole Spain's most expensive emerald before he could and also took out his men who tried to get in my way of leaving with the diamond

And now he's trying to get back at me

Everyone in the room was silent, no one said a single word

"Why wasn't I informed when the black Diamond was brought in?"

"The um...the information came in during the whole ambush thing so we...we couldn't actually find the right time...to tell you" Phil stuttered

I let out a slight chuckle while continuously running my fingers through my hair, before I could think, I picked up a small flower pot on my desk and threw it at my library

"Everybody get out" I whispered and they all turn around and start walking out the door leaving just me in my office
