Warriors: New Beginnings

Chapter 1

Birds chirped in the trees as a bee buzzed by a flower. It was a classic morning in Thunderclan, but today, something exciting was happening, cats getting tingles in their pelts as they knew today was the grand day. "Clan meeting!" Called Bluestar, the Russian Blue leader as she climbed atop the high rock. "Well, Cherry'kit, I'm done grooming your fur!" Announced Russetfur, Cherrykit's mom. "You can go with your friends and get your apprentice name!" She said, chest puffed up with pride. "Mom!" Whined Cherrypaw. "Your gonna embarrass me! I'm not a kit anymore!" Cherry'paw squealed. Russetfur rolled her eyes. "Oh, but you'll always be my little kit. Now go out there and make me proud, sweetie!" Russetfur purred, gently nuzzling Cherrykit towards the high rock. Cherrykit nodded and trotted over to the rest of the kits, excitement bristling through her fur. *I'm finally going to be an apprentice! I can't wait!* She thought, smiling to herself. She sat down next to Mosskit, her best friend. Mosskit turned and looked at her. "Oh, hello Cherrykit!" She mewed. "Are you excited on who is going to mentor you?" She asked, cocking her head. Cherrykit purred. "Oh sure! I can't wait, we're gonna be the best apprentices!" But soon, everyone was silenced as Bluestar spoke. "Today, cats of thunderclan, three brave kits have turned six moons of age and are ready to become apprentices!" She spoke, the kits looking up with wonder. "Now, Mosskit, step forward!" Mosskit walked towards the high rock, happy. "Now, Mosskit, by the powers of Starclan, your name shall now be Mosspaw!" Every cat cheered as Mosspaw purred. "Mosspaw! Mosspaw! Mosspaw!" They chanted in support. "Now, Mosspaw, your mentor is going to be...Swiftfoot!" Every cat cheered again, as Swiftfoot stepped towards his apprentice and booped her nose in support. "Thank you, everybody! I promise I will be the best apprentice I can be!" Mosspaw meowed. Then the leader turned to face Spottedkit, one of the she-cats from the nursery that Cherrykit played with. "Now, Spottedkit, it's your turn! Your new name is Spottedpaw. You will be the apprentice of Thistleclaw, I know he will teach you well!" She mewled, loud. "Spottedpaw! Spottedpaw!" The clan chanted and Spottedpaw walked over to Thistleclaw, purring. Cherrykit purred at her friends, who were now apprentices. It was finally her turn! She was going to get her  apprentice name and train with her friends! Everything was going wonderful! She stepped up, when she heard yowling. Something was coming! Cherrykit's fur stood on end, she turned around to see Shadowclan cats invading her clan's very own camp.
