A few days later Kaycee had almost given up all hope. Her neck and back were infected, her concussion caused her to drift in and out of consciousness, she started to forget a lot of things, her arms and legs were completely bruised and hade changed to shades of purple and blue. She had a black eye and cuts and burns were all over her body.

"I snuck you a chocolate chip cookie." Alex said in a hushed voice one day.

"Your favorite right?" He said smiling. They had become pretty good friends over the past week and a half.

"Yeah thanks." Kaycee smiled and had become so weak that she could barely pick up to cookie. She looked down in embarrassment.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked concerned.

"I-I don't have the energy to pick it up... C-could you feed me?" She asked hopefully.

"O-oh!" Alex's cheeks flushed pinkish in his tan skin.

"Sure." He carefully fed Kaycee the cookie. He frowned.

"I can't do this anymore." He exclaimed.

"Can't do what?" Kaycee asked.

"Work for Samantha anymore. She said if I don't do what I'm told she would kill me. I'm her younger brother, you see? She's never liked me. She would kill me in an instant if I disobeyed her." He grabbed a key out of his pocket and undid the chains around Kaycee's wrists and ankles.

Finally.

There were deep red lines around her wrists and ankles but she felt so free. Alex picked her up wedding style and ran her up the stairs.

"Samantha's out with Janelle so we have time." Alex glanced down at Kaycee who was going unconscious again. Her breathe was shallow and quick.

"Kaycee? Kaycee were about to free you! You'll be free! You'll just have to stay with me a little while longer!!" Alex gently patted Kaycee and she woke up again.

"We're outside!" The sunlight burned Kaycee's eyes and she attempted to shield her eyes with her hand. He laid her gently on the grass and pulled off his hooded sweatshirt. She realized that she had a fever and must have been shivering an Alex noticed.

He slipped it over her and pulled the hood over her head.

"Better?" Alex asked.

Kaycee have him a small thumbs up.

"Y-yeah..."

"Good because we're almost to my car."

After a few minutes they reached his car and he laid her down in the backseat. He put a big blanket on her and started driving. Kaycee wrote down Phil's address and handed it to Alex.

"Great, I'll take you there." Alex said and nodded. Kaycee continued to shiver in the backseat which hurt everywhere.

*20 minutes later*

"We're here." Alex said as he opened the door and picked Kaycee up again.

Kaycee's head bobbed up and down as Phil carried her up the stairs. Kaycee thought he must have been pretty strong to carry her this far. Alex knocked on the door. The door was opened by Hannah.

"Um, hello?" Hannah obviously didn't recognize Kaycee with her uncombed hair, skinny frail figure, pale skin, and harmed body.

"I'm Alex. I rescued your friend Kaycee from Samantha."

Hannah clasped her hand over her mouth and teared up.

"Come in!!" She yelled and pulled him inside.

Alex put Kaycee down on the couch and slipped his sweatshirt off of her so they could examine her. Phil walked in and tried not to cry.

"Kaycee!!" He screamed and kneeled next to her.

Kaycee turned her head very slowly to face Phil.

"H-hi..." Kaycee groaned.

"She looks awful." Hannah said.

"Look how wounded she is!!"
