"Now when I am on my death bed, son I want you to act as guardian of your father and never leave him alone, dear , we love you so much, I think he really needs you as a backbone after my death, when you were just a child, he used to take care of you, now you must behave the same, now it's your turn to give your support to him. Dear it's my last wish please do fulfil it".
I took her hand and took a deep breath holding my tears back and said "Mother, I love you so much, thank you for everything and I promise I will answer what you have enjoined me not as my obligation but as a privilege" and then suddenly the hand I was holding seemed to loosening up.
She died peacefully I carefully wipe her tears that rolled from her eyes.
3years later "Today its almost 3years since we lost her, she passed way from cancer leaving me and my father Mr. Abhay Raizada, He still loves my mother and also, although he was crazy about my mother's cooking he loves mine too, I miss my mother very much but I know she will be there with both of us forever and always. And I hope I am fulfilling her wish to the fullest."
"Hey dad lets us go home", holding his old wrinkled hands, I asked him.
"Amman will you do a favor" a cranky voice came from his mouth as if there's a lump inside his throat or he will cry at any moment.
"Yes dad sure, anything for you" wiping his tears I replied.
"Can we stay here for some time more? I feel her presence here can we please" without looking at me he asked me just like a kid asking something from his dad. "sure dad let's sit here for sometime more" I smiled
