There was so much light that she couldn't open her eyes. It was so intense that she felt like it could burn her. Wait, Burn!!  All the memories came back to her: the explosion, the fire burning her skin, the pain, her lungs burning from the smoke and the light.Opening her mouth to scream, Yun Xie discovered that she couldn't. But that wasn't all—she couldn't see anything, she couldn't hear anything, and she felt weightless, so weightless as though she was a feather floating in the wind. So... free. And then down she went, spiraling as though she was being sucked into a vortex. The force was so strong that she felt like she was being torn apart. She didn't know how long it lasted, but when she next regained consciousness, she felt like she was lying on clouds, as whatever she was lying on was so soft."Yun Xie," said a voice.

"Who is it?" she asked as she got up from the cloud-like surface. "I said, who is it?" she asked again, but there was no answer, only the voice calling her name again: "Yun Xie, Yun Xie, Yun Xie!!" called the voice over and over and over. "I said, who is it? Show yourself!"  She screamed at the void but all she got was the voice calling her name ,again and again, and each time her name was called, she felt like her head was wedged between a pair of cymbals, being hit over and over again. "Stop, please stop! I beg you, please stop," she screamed. She cried, she begged for the voice to stop, to no avail, and soon she asked the voice to kill her, to end her suffering. She curled up in a fetal position, holding her head as she rocked herself. Yun Xie had never believed in God, but she found herself praying—no, begging—for anyone, whoever and whatever power there was out there, to save her. She was willing to do anything as long as it could stop the 'voice.'Yun Xie didn't know how long she was lying there. Maybe it was a day, or maybe it was hours, or maybe just a couple of minutes. There was no sense of time, or maybe she was dead and this was hell. Maybe this was her punishment, her own personal purgatory, or maybe this was all a figment of her imagination. Whichever one it was, she just hoped that it would end. And as though it was a miracle, it stopped, and there was silence all around.
She slowly uncurled her body and gently got up and stood quietly waiting. For what? She also wanted to know.
"Yun Xie, born on Friday, 27th of June, 1992, Year of the Monkey, to Hou Jun De and Mi Yaorou in Nanjing, Capital of Jiangsu Province, as the fifth daughter of an affluent crime family. Lost her mother at the age of 10 and left in the care of her father's wife for 3 years. Later, her father saw her talent with knives and took her under his wing to be trained as an assassin. Never once resisted or opposed that decision and killed for the first time at the age of 17. Got abandoned by her father a year later, and then plotted for ten years to kill him, which she succeeded in doing. Four years later, unable to escape from a fire caused by her boiler exploding because she was intoxicated from drugs. This is your entire life in summary. You were born into a healthy and wealthy environment, never lacking anything materially. You had many choices, yet you chose to become a killer even when you were given a chance to do things differently," said the voice.Yun Xie was stunned by the words, for indeed it was her life. "So, indeed, I am dead. Who are you? Am I in hell? Why am I even asking? Of course, I am in hell; it's not like I am a saint. Are you the one going to sentence me?" she asked the voice.
"Mortals know me by many names in different cultures and nations. In some, I am known as King Yan and to some Yama,  I am the one who will judge you. Your life is a failure; you were given a good life only for you to waste it." "It's not my fault, I didn't have a choice, it was—""You always had a choice. You were just irresponsible and selfish, and you refused to take accountability for your choices, so you always lied to yourself that you didn't have a choice. But you did, and you always chose the safest and easiest way for yourself, always believing you were a victim but never a perpetrator. Every single time you killed a person, you said you had no choice but to do it, but you always knew that you were lying to yourself. Even when you got abandoned by your father, you had the opportunity to live your life differently, yet you didn't." Said the voice interrupting her.
At this point Yun Xie felt like screaming" Easiest and safest way you said? My life was never , never did you think I liked killing people no i did not but it was all I knew how to do, as for not opposing do know how I lived my life, my mom was nothing but fleeting fascination and after he had enough he threw the both of us aside. Hahaha Hou Jun De indeed but he was anything but kind, and the only reason I was brought to that woman was because of the dirty blood flowing through my veins and overtime it was no longer enough for my survival so of course I had to be useful for useless  things are destined to be discarded. As for being given another chance I tried I really tried hard to go on with my life but I was not reconciled, on what basis should he use me and discard as he pleases so yes I worked hard, harder then everyone else to grow, to be better, to be smarter, faster and more cunning  and when I saw him breath his last i was happy and finally no longer a pawn to be discarded at will. But of course you know all that, am I right? You know what type of I had gone through in my failure of a life. "

The voice sounded disappointed when it next spoke " You still refuse to be responsible for your actions. Fine let's take a step back and say at first you were following your father's orders to kill but did you never had the chance to walk away? What about the people you killed later just to get your on your father and don't you dare say they  were all not good people for even if they were it is not your place to punish them. In world every nation is govern by a set of rules and laws which acts as check and balance thereby providing you another way for your revenge as no matter how powerful your father is he is not as powerful as a nation. Yes some powerful people in your nation are behind him but you had the means to bring them down together which you didn't, you also never used your skills to protect yourself but to bring harm onto others, there were many people in worse situation than you were in, you were healthy, strong, of sound mind and intelligent, you were not in the midst of war, you were educated and never lacked anything materially, you had a voice and were not in servitude yet all you see are the things you do not have.
Sigh, since you do not think then let cycle of karma and for all you took you shall return in double of that" finished the voice.
