I make it to school only to not see Caroline. I shrug knowing she's probably late. I go to Tanner's class and tune him out. I look around only to see Elena and Stefan getting in trouble. I tune back in and decide to answer questions.
"The fall of the Berlin Wall." Tanner says. "1989." Me and Stefan say simultaneously. "Im good with dates, sir." Stefan tells him. "Are you? How good? Keep it to the year." Tanner says getting ready for douche mode.
We nod. "Civil Rights Act." "1964." We answer. "John F. Kennedy assassination. " "1963." We say again. "Martin Luther King.'' "68." I say. "Lincoln." "1865." We say. "Roe versus Wade?" Tanner asks walking closer to Stefan. "1973." We say not breaking. "Brown versus Board?" Tanner asks trying to get us embarrassed. "1954." We say again. "The battle of Gettysburg." "1863." We say again. "Korean War." "1950 to 1953." Me and Stefan say simultaneously. But Tanner being a dick says, "Ha! It ended in 52. Ha-ha-ha." Tanner says smiling thinking he had us. "Uh, actually, sir, it was 53." Stefan says. I nod. Tanner turns back around and looks at him and then me. I smirk. "Look it up. Somebody. Quickly." Tanner says trying not to be embarrassed. "It was 1953." Some kid says. Everyone starts chuckling and clapping for us. The bell rings right on time. I walk out.
