CHAPTER THREE

BEAUTIFUL

Weekend passed in a blink. Parang pumikit lang ako saglit at lunes na naman. On weekend I did the usual things. Pumupunta sa boutique para tumulong o ‘di kaya ay gawin ang mga assignments and presentations ko. Every Sunday the boutique is close so we go to church every morning and then rest after.

Habang papasok sa first subject namin sinalubong agad ako ng mga kaibigan. They just asked me how was my weekend and they're back talking with their own topic, of course it's about boys.

Jenica is the type who has a lot of crushes. Kapag may nakitang pogi crush agad! Pero hanggang doon lang, iba ‘yan kapag in love. But right now she's happy being single for three months, she and her ex boyfriend broke up three months ago.

Si Rian naman hindi kaagad na-a-attract kahit pogi, sabi nga ni Jen masyado raw mataas ang standard, and we can't blame her about that. But if someone caught her attention, she'll find a way to get that someone. And look likes he is admiring someone right now, kaya nagchi-chismisan na naman silang dalawa.

Usapang lovelife hindi agad ako makaka-relate diyan. I had a crush before but I got turned off after a month. Ngayon, wala pa talaga sa isip ko ‘yan. I just want to enjoy my life alone and reach my dreams.

The two hour class ended and it's already one pm. Nagyaya ang dalawa na mag-lunch but I refuse. Busog pa ako at gusto ko muna mag muni-muni kaya sila na lang dalawa ang nag-lunch.

I am walking up stairs to go to my usual spot here in our campus, the rooftop our building.

“Denves?” I heard someone calling me behind.

I look at her and smile. “Yes?”

“Pinabigay ng kaibigan mo,” sabay abot nito ng chocolate smoothie.

I thought they're going to eat lunch? Pumunta ata silang cafe.

“Oh, thanks!” ngumiti lang siya at umalis na.

It's one in the afternoon, kaya tirik na tirik ang araw. Nang makarating sa rooftop naghanap ako ng pwesto na hindi masyadong naiinitan. Pinagpag ko muna ang semento bago umupo.

This is where I usually go everytime I wanted to be alone. Sometimes I just sit here and enjoy the peacefulness that the nature gives.

The building of every department are just the same. But our building is way more beautiful when it comes with the view. If you'll look at the east side, you can see the city with tall buildings and all while at the far side of the west, a beautiful view of the sea is there. Kaya kapag wala akong schedule tuwing hapon, dito ako pumupunta para masaksihan ang ganda ng sunset.

But now it's still one, so I just spent my time looking at the sky while sipping on my chocolate smoothie.

After two hours of waiting for my next class, I heard my phone rang.

“Pababa na,” agad kong tugon. It was Jenica, they know where I am right now reason why she called me for the next class.

Bumaba na ako at nagtungo agad sa tamang palapag. I entered the room right in time before my professor started. The two hours class is just full of discussion, kaya medyo inantok ako. It's almost sunset when our class ended, that's why I decided to spend my time watching sunset before going home.

“Mauna na muna kayong umuwi, magpapalipas oras lang ulit ako,” paalam ko sa kanila bago kami lumabas.

“Lennon is waiting for me. May family dinner sa bahay ng Lola ko kaya isasabay na ako,” paalam din ni Rian.

Sumimangot agad si Jenica sa aming dalawa. “Ano ba ‘yan, iiwan niyo na naman ako,” natawa kami ni Rian sa kaniya.

“Kung gusto mo sumama ka sa amin ni Lennon?” may panunuyang suhestyon naman ni Rian sa kaniya.

Sandali, may alam ba sila na hindi ko nalalaman?

“Ri, let‘s go!”

Tumingin agad kami sa tumawag kay Rian. I look behind him but no one is there. Oh, hindi sila magkasama?

Eh ano naman kung hindi sila magkasama? I lightly slap my face for thinking abou it.

“Ito na. Sasama si Jenica sa atin,” dali-dali naman kaming naglakad patungo kay Lennon.

He smiled at me and nodded a bit.

“Did you invite them?” tanong nito kay Rian.

“Oh shoot! I almost forgot. Are you guys free this Saturday? We have a party for Lola‘s birthday, we will have dinner tonight to finalize everything,” napaisip ako kung pupunta ba ako.

Medyo tahimik si Jenica kaya tinignan ko siya para tanungin kung pupunta ba siya at tumango naman ito.

“Okay, we’ll go then,” tugon ko sa kaniya.

Napatalon sa tuwa si Rian, hindi ito ang unang beses na inimbita niya kami sa birthday celebration pero ito ang unang pagkakataon na inimbita niya kami sa party ng Lola niya.

We bid our goodbyes after the small talk. Sumama si Jenica sa kanila at bumalik naman ako paakyat sa rooftop.

Nang makarating malakas na hangin agad ang sumalubong sa akin. I look at the side where the sunset is and I gasp looking at it. I was so mesmerized how beautiful it is.

Kahit unti-unting inaagaw ng kadiliman, hindi pa rin nagpapatalo ang kulay kahel na mga ulap.

I will never get tired seeing this everyday. I smiled while looking at it.

Sabi nila lahat ng bagay may katapusan, pero hindi lahat nang natatapos ay masakit, malungkot, at masalimoot. Dahil may mga bagay na natatapos din sa magandang paraan. Kagaya nito. The day may end, but it will end beautifully.

“Too amazed with the view...” isang baritonong boses ang nagpawala ng atensyon ko sa papalubog na araw.

He‘s already behind me. How come I didn't notice him?

“What are you doing here?” I asked still looking at the sunset.

“Bakit? Ikaw lang ba ang pwede pumunta dito?” pabalik na tanong nito.

“Seryoso ako Amrick,”

“I am serious too,” napairap ako sa sagot niya.

“Bakit ka nandito?” tanong ko ulit.

I heard him sigh.

“I just realized, the view here... is way more beautiful...”
