After tapping Ji Yuning's head twice, Fang Bai quickly withdrew her hand.

"Despite the pleasant sensation, I didn't dare to touch the female protagonist's head too much."

Fang Bai's close-up hand movements and swinging arms were unsettling for Ji Yuning due to her past experiences of being hit, causing her muscles and nerves to tense up.

Although Ji Yuning turned her head and shifted her body to avoid another sudden skinship, the cramped space of the car made her efforts futile.

Fang Bai noticed her discomfort and decided not to tease her any further.

"I  hoped that by making Ji Yuning address me as auntie, our relationship would grow closer."

"But I knew that I needed to be patient and take things slowly."

After a while, Ji Yuning sat up straight, her expression indifferent as if nothing had happened.

Twenty minutes later, they arrived at the shopping mall's parking lot.

Fang Bai let Uncle Li have lunch on his own before taking Ji Yuning on the elevator.

The mall had five floors, and Fang Bai planned to shop from the bottom up and dine on the fifth floor.

"My primary goal for bringing Ji Yuning to the mall was to buy her some clothes."

"I remember in the novel, Ji Yuning wore school uniforms during school hours, but outside of school, she wore what Wu Mei brought from home which belonged to her daughter and were mostly old clothes from five or six years ago."

"Unfortunately, most of the clothes were too big for Ji Yuning, leaving her shaking inside them."

When Fang Bai told Ji Yuning they were going shopping, she didn't mention it was for her. 

Naturally, Ji Yuning didn't expect Fang Bai to buy her anything and thought she was only there to help her carry things.

So when Fang Bai asked if she liked any styles, Ji Yuning casually pointed in a direction. 

She knew Fang Bai wouldn't like what she liked, so she didn't bother to seriously help Fang Bai choose.

Following Ji Yuning's direction, Fang Bai saw a row of lace tops that were extremely sexy, and her eyebrows raised in surprise. 

"I didn't expect this child to have such mature taste."

"How about changing your style? This one isn't suitable for your age," Fang Bai suggested softly.

"Huh?"

Ji Yuning only heard the first half of Fang Bai's sentence, and a hint of unease flashed across her face as she looked at the lace tops.

Thinking that Ji Yuning wanted to wear the top, Fang Bai persuasively said, "You should wear something more youthful since you're only sixteen. You can wear this when you reach my age."

"I'm not wearing it," Ji Yuning replied in a deep voice.

"When did she say she wanted to wear it?"

Fang Bai was confused, as she didn't understand why the young girl would get angry even when offered to buy something.

"If you want, you can buy one," Fang Bai said after pausing for a moment.

This time, Ji Yuning heard Fang Bai's words clearly, and her eyes filled with confusion, "Buy for me?"

Fang Bai suddenly realized that the child didn't understand her intentions, and she nodded and smiled, "Yes, otherwise why would I take you shopping?"
