-Previously-

As she was about to exit the alley, she spotted a white van parked ahead, its door ajar. Instinct told her to steer clear, but before she could react, a stranger forcibly pushed her inside and slammed the door shut.

Frantically, she attempted to open the door, resorting to pounding on the glass in a futile effort to break free. A loud thud from outside caught her attention, sounding like a body hitting the pavement. The door suddenly swung open, revealing a tall man...

-Currently-

To her astonishment, it was the handsome guy from the fast-food restaurant. However, the first thing that caught her eye was his sculpted six-pack abs visible through his white shirt. Not to mention his muscular arms and veiny hands – he was quite the sight. It's like he is every women's dream to be with! Even me ;)

He gently pulled her out and retrieved her luggage. "Are you okay?" Stunned by his bravery, she was momentarily speechless, allowing her gaze to linger on his chiseled features up close.

"I understand I'm attractive, but you don't have to stare at me for so long," he quipped, rolling his eyes. "Oh, right, I'm sorry. It's just hard to resist," she blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"So, what are you doing out here so late? Shouldn't you be indoors?" She nervously rubbed her arms, avoiding his gaze. "You shouldn't trust people around here, kiddo. Not everyone is friendly."

"I know... But I really needed a place to sleep right now." The man sighed, reaching for his phone. "You're lucky I'm willing to be late for my date to help you – otherwise, you might have ended up in the wrong hands." He texted someone and stashed the phone away.

"There are plenty of apartments around here. Why don't you know where to stay?" He groaned, clearly exasperated. She felt humiliated – this was the same man she had embarrassed herself in front of earlier.

She couldn't believe her own social clumsiness. "I was looking for an apartment close to Miraculous University." The man stopped and raised an eyebrow. "Miraculous University? Well, lucky for you, I know of one nearby. Come with me." He grabbed her wrist, but she hesitated.

"What now, kiddo?" He sighed, crossing his arms. "I don't know if I should trust you."

-Random Man's POV-

"She didn't trust me, even though I just rescued her from those kidnappers now lying unconscious? Some people really don't appreciate help."

"You don't trust me after I just saved you from those people? Yet you trust random strangers so easily. Are you thinking clearly? Fine, I'll leave you here with those kidnappers, and they'll take you with them," I teased, walking away. But the girl leaped onto my back.

"HEY! GET OFF MY BACK, YOU'RE HEAVY!" I shouted, dropping her to the ground. She crawled toward me, hugging my leg. "I didn't mean it like that! You said not to trust people here, and I'm sorry. Take me with you." She pleaded.
