Iremide's POV
"Wake up, wake up", somebody said while trying to shake off my sleep, I wondered who had the guts to do that in this house.
I opened my eyes and guess who it was, Nini, of course she is the only one stupid enough to do that.
I checked the time and it was 9:30 AM, I haven't slept so good in a very long time, courtesy to the pills I took last night.
"Didn't you miss me?" Nini stated with a pout resting on her face, this girl is soo annoying, I mean we literally see each other every Saturday, but I better tell her I miss her cause I don't have death wish.
"Of course I did"
"Good I got you something". This made me elated, Nini brings the best gift, I gave her an enormous smile.
Nini's present was a box of expensive chocolate, she knows how to get to my heart.
I freshened up and we both went down for breakfast. Breakfast was different today, just like every Saturday, Nini brightens everyone's mood.
After breakfast, Nini and I went to my room.
"I have gist oo" Nini voiced out ludicrously, "but we have to wait for Dara" she added.
"Dara is coming?" I asked curiously.
"Yea, she messaged you but you weren't online" Nini replied while giving me a I don't know what is wrong with you look.
"What, I don't like going on WhatsApp" I tried to defend myself.
Ok let me give you a bit of orientation before you get lost. Nini, Dara, Tolu and I are all best friends but also cousins.
We've known each other since childhood most especially Nini Dara and I, I met Tolu when I was 14. Even when I was at the devil's house we were still friends but I couldn't tell them what was wrong. Tolu is one of the few guys I am not scared of.
Dara arrived in few minutes, she is the mother of the group.
"Daraaa my love" Nini announced and gave Dara a Bear hug, I also joined the Bear hug.
We settled down and ordered for snacks.
"Oya spill the gist" Dara spoke.
"Oh yea, sooo, you know Jason and I broke up, well his friend Chris is now hitting on me". Nini shared.
"OMG Nini don't tell me you like him" Dara exclaimed.
Trust me anytime Nini notices a guy hitting on her, it means she likes the guy.
"No I don't, well I do, I mean I'm starting to notice how dashing he looks, puberty did him well" Nini muttered.
"She definitely likes him" I agreed with Dara.
"This is a debacle" Dara being the mother of the trio responded with a worried expression.
"It's not Dara, he likes me and I like him too so what's the problem there. If Jason has a problem he should goan(go and) hug transformer" Nini dropped like the Queen that she is.
"Okay o" Dara said sounding worried.
"Sooo Dara how is Timi" I asked trying to shove the present topic.
Instantly, Dara started blushing like a fool.
"Soo this is love" Nini mocked and then we both started teasing her.
"You guys na", Dara feigned annoyance but this made us tease her more.
"Oya sorry, talk jo" Nini added
"Well..." Dara attempted to talk but Nini interrupted
"As I'm hearing that 'Well...', Ire we should get ready to be oppressed" Nini teased.
I tired not to laugh but failed woefully.
"Infact, I'm not talking again"
Dara spoke.
"Sorry na, we'll stop" I quickly added.
"Okay soo, on the first day of resumption, he got me a beautiful necklace to appreciate me for being his girlfriend" Dara shared, blushing like they have use jazz on her(she has been bewitched).
"GOD WEN!!!(when)" Nini and I teased in unison.
" The pressure is getting wesser(worst)" Nini added dramatically.
"Ko po ke(a Nigerian slang)" me sef add my own.
Dara kept blushing. She showed us the necklace and Omo, that shit is damn expensive.
"Oya Ire your turn" Nini stated and they both faced me.
"My turn keh, I have nothing to say I" I feigned ignorance
" If I dash this one slap" Nini blurted ready to dash me slap if I misbehave.
"Okay sha, Ivan remains being Ivan, a douche, Bella nevertheless still did not change" I stated dryly.
" Omo if I didn't no better, I will assume Ivan likes you" Nini stated seriously.
"For real, I wonder when he will get over that stupid childhood feud" Dara added
"There's more right" Nini asked.
"Yes, I made a new friend, her name is Sharon" I replied.
"OMGGG, I'm soo proud of you" Dara screamed and they both have me a Bear hug. I'm sure you've noticed that we always give each other Bear hugs, well, that's our signature hug.
"Anything else?" Dara asked.
Unexpectedly, Casper's stunning smile appeared in my memory, unknowingly to me, I was blushing bad.
"Spill!!!" Who is the boy" Nini shouted.
"Which boy" I denied firmly.
"If I punch you" Nini snarled.
"Okay okay, you are too violent sef. There's a new boy from England, his name is Casper he is fine. Lately he has been trying to befriend me and I think he likes me, I'm not sure sha".
They both had their mouth hanging.
"Close your mouth abeg(please)" I blurted.
"WOW" Dara finally spoke out
"Is he fine" Nini asked
"Were you deaf when she said his fine" Dara retorted
"What's his IG handle" Nini questioned.
"How am I suppose to know"
I replied
"Oh yea, you no even get account (you don't have an account), what's his full name" Nini asked.
"Casper Emerson " I muttered in response.
"Are you for real, like the CASPER EMERSON, that fine oyinbo boy " Nini gasped.
"Wait calm down Nini, Ire don't tell me you don't know Casper Emerson on IG".
I looked at them, I don't even have an account so how would I know. "I don't"
"This girl you need help" Dara stated the obvious.
"Guys I have a group project, I was grouped with Sharon, Ivan and Casper", I told the girls.
Dara spoke"all I can say is I wish you good luck "
"For real Ire good luck" Nini added.
We watched movies after our gist session. Then when it was getting late, we video call Tolu, he is in university, abroad. We spoke for hours then Dara's mum came to get her while Nini slept at mine.
Nini and I laid on the bed, she was doing a live video on IG, that girl and social media eh.
My phone vibrated, a message came in.
Unknown number: Heyy Iremide, it's Casper.
He finally messaged me, my heart is losing control
Me: heyyy
Casper: hope you good
Me: yep
Casper: how's your day
Me: good
Casper: details na
Me: when did you start using "na"😂
Casper: leave that one jo😂
Me: oppor😂
Casper: your day??
Me: oh yea...
I gave him details of my day except his part sha
Casper: wow, you had a good day, I'd love to meet Nini and Dara one day. Mine was boring, I couldn't stop thinking about one particular girl.
Nini and Dara will flip if I tell them he would love to meet them. I tried not to think much of the "particular girl" but I can't help it, my heart hurts, I'm jealous.
Me: I wonder who the lucky girl is.
Casper: thank God you know she's lucky, Iremide you are lucky ❤️
This guy is giving me butterflies
We talked a little more or should I say I lot, Omo my poor heart. We sha chatted for long.
Casper: Iremide, I've to pray now, see you Monday and don't Ignore me o. Don't forget to pray before you go to bed.
Me: bye
Wow, we talked for 2hours, Nini has fallen asleep. Casper makes my heart flutter. I slept with butterflies in my stomach.
