It had been almost 3 years since Taehyun had taken over the role of secretary for LNJ Finance. For three years, he worked under his boss, the notoriously callous CEO Lim Hakyung. Ask just about any employee and they'd all reply with the same answer:
She was a devil in the flesh with her ridiculously high standards and narcissistic behaviour.
But somehow Kang Taehyun managed to face her for much longer than anyone had guessed and anyone that had worked for her in the past. His fellow co-workers always asked the same question of how he did it and Taehyun would simply shrug it off.
"I don't really know to be honest."
Taehyun lifted his head off the desk and let out a loud yawn, breaking himself away from his lethargy. He blinked a few times, adjusting his tired eyes to the blinding lights coming off of his monitor.
He reached for the power button before taking out the green USB stick which contained the agenda his boss asked him to collate for the upcoming board meeting with the rest of LNJ's subsidiaries.
It was also the reason he was still in the office past five while the rest of the building's interior was dark and empty with no one in sight. Taehyun wouldn't even be surprised if the cleaners he often passed by while working overtime had already left to go home.
Taehyun rolled back his chair, stretched his limbs and cracked his aching neck before trudging towards the printer. He picked up the freshly printed sheets and carefully stapled them together before tucking the document into a folder for safe keeping.
He stepped towards the CEO's office just a few paces down from his secretarial office, all while nervously clenching onto the folder with desperation to please his critical superintendent.
He knocked a couple times until he was met with a faint "come in" before swinging open the tall glass doors with the label CEO Lim Hakyung plastered across it.
Lim Hakyung sat at her desk with her body laying placid against the soft leather chair, donning a loose-fitting grey suit with glistening platinum jewellery decorating her bare neck and ears.
