Kamila,
The day has finally arrived. The house is filled up and kids running up and down.
It was one forty when I checked the time.
The daurin aure takes place after Friday prayers and from the looks of the time we should be getting phone calls any moment from now on.
"Seriously Taqeeya you're not going to shed even a single tear?" Her cousin asiya who was dressed who has been trying to fix her lafaya said.
"I'm a big girl I don't cry over such things "
"Iyyeee su big girl, toh let me tell you something, whether you like it or not you must cry. You won't even know how the tears will manage to come out of those eye balls of yours. "
Everyone laughed at and continued their work.
Ru'ah couldn't make it because she wasn't feeling too well.
I was folding the clothes the bride will use for the daurin aure which is after the reception when I noticed she was smiling at her phone.
"Hey soon to be Mrs has it already happened?" I asked making everyone in the room to stop what they were doing and look at her.
She looked at me then back at her phone before she nodded yes.
Before you know it the entire room was filled with screams. We started hearing yodel from the people of the house.
"SHE'S CRYING "
Asiya pointed at the bride making her to cry more and us to laugh.
"The groom is probably on his way so you must get ready"
She was about to start changing when we heard a knock and the door was opened revealing the bride's mother. Her eyes were slightly red showing she just finished her own crying.
Everyone was silent and the only the that could be heard was the sniff that was coming from the bride.
"My daughter"
Hearing this made her to breakdown more which lead to a hug.
"Stop crying mamana. May you and your husband always be happy. Congratulations "
Okay wasn't this the same bride that said she wasn't going to cry like ten minutes ago?
We managed to finally calm her down and get her dressed.
As the kanuri bride, she was dressed in a white lafaya that had gold thread work by the hem. It suits her fair complexion which made her stand out more.
The bridesmaids are to wear matching colour of lafaya which was brown.
The bride and groom's outfit has to match and so does the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
She said she didn't want any heavy makeup so she did the usual makeup she does on normal days.
Pictures were taken. Those crying cried while teasers kept on making fun of her.
Yusrah, who was dressed in a knee length ball gown came into the room and announced the arrival of the groom.
"Let me go and bribe those men. Adda T don't be mad at me when your husband says he doesn't have money to give you. If you don't want me to make him go bankrupt better come down quick "
Oh Asiya. Believe her when she says she's going to do something. She's a woman that sticks to her words.
"Okay let's go " I announced after applying my lip gloss and kohl. I don't like stress.
"Wait. Was this how you felt?"
"I think I felt way worse. I felt like throwing up in my stomach that day. I wanted to run away actually but Usman locked me in the room. But everything went back to normal the moment I set my eyes on your brother. I started feeling very dizzy I thought I might collapse, but everything was fine. You're going to be fine, I promise "
"Thank you so much namesake. You really saved me"
"Enough now. Let's not keep my brother in law waiting for too long"
That sentence made her laugh and I smiled to myself and gave an invisible 'well done pat'on the back.

>>>><<<<Sadam,
Immediately we heard footsteps our attention went to the direction of the sound.
The bride's face was covered with a veil while her two friends brought her down.
They made it to where the groom was standing and just when Raeed was about to make a move Asiya jumped in between.
"Asiya what do you want this time? You've clearly emptied my pockets and half of my account balance so what do you want this time?"
"Well I guess I've suffered you enough, you can see your bride now"
"Thank you" he said with a relief.
I heard him make some du'as before he lifted the veil.
I could swear I saw a tear almost escape his eye but was quick enough to wipe it away.
"Awwwwnnnn he is crying " oh Asiya
"I'm not crying Asiya stop making fun of me right now."
"Oh so the liquid that came out of your eyes were what? You think I didn't see it?"
All he did was shook his head.
They were sent to go and greet the elders.
When they came out Asiya started singing.
"You don't what you did"
And bridesmaids chorused
"Did to him"
"Your body lightweight"
"Speaks to him"
Both of them just stood rooted in shock. They have weird families.
We left shortly after asr prayers for the reception.
After that it was time for the conveyance of the bride.
She was taken alongside with some of her cousins. We had to make sure each bridesmaid that was not a relative goes home before we could go to the newly weds house.
It was eight o'clock and the house was almost empty.
"Hey have you seen Kamila? I was supposed to take her to the bride's house but she's nowhere to be found"
"Have you tried calling her?"
"Yes but it ends up in a voice message "
"Where did you see her last?"
"She said she had to go and get her things like ten minutes ago and she's still not out yet".
Sadam was about to talk when the light went out.
