"Chloe Laila Oscurts!" My mother shouted at me from downstairs. What did I do now? "Get down stairs NOW and tell me what is the reason for this rebellious stage!" I dragged myself down stairs, slowly mentally getting myself prepared for my really mad mother.
I can not believe how much trouble is necessary for just chewing gum in class! I mean, why do I have to get in dentention! For crying out loud, it was my favorite flavor - watermelon! The thing that surprises me though is that I got in trouble for chewing gum while my teacher was chewing gum! That is not fair! I was ready for my mom to blast my ears... There was no getting out of this one.
"I told you ONE thing, young lady! ONE THING!" I know what she is talking about. She had told me to stay out of trouble. I said,"Of course, mom." I couldn't help that I was getting yelled at for chewing gum! "You have taken this way too far! Last week, it was not doing homework, but detention! I am taking away your phone and television! Oh, and guess what? NO FUN THINGS AT ALL! You are GROUNDED! Now go to your room and write an apology to your teacher and principal!"
I did not refuse. I knew that if I refused, I would get myself in even more trouble for back-talking. I ran to my room, shut the door, locked it, and cried in my pillow. I guess I could survive being grounded...
