Colby narrates

(Colby POV)

Just another normal day in the Outer banks. What can I say? It's paradise on earth. You must be wondering why I'm not at school well...

"Colby hurry up" Jake yells, making it over the fence, "Get back here you stupid kids" the cops yelled as I made it over the fence running into the twinkie.

"Next time I'm talking to the cop," Corey explains. Ah that's Corey the 'brains' of the group now you see that purple head over there that's Jake he's not the smartest of the group but he's the craziest.

My phone starts to vibrate in my pocket, I grab my phone to check and see who's calling me. "Shit Mr. Golbach is calling me" I say "why's that" Corey asks confused, " I was supposed to come look at his boat today" I say.

"Do you have to go?" Jake pouts "Not like I wanna, it's just for the money" I say "Want me to drop you off" Corey asks, "Yeah that would be great" I say.

I stood there confused on who this boy is, I tapped his shoulder to attempt to wake him up. The boy's eyes fluttered open, "Who are you? Where's mr. Golbach" I ask confused. "Im Sam Golbach, I was the one who called you" he says annoyed.

"So what seems to be the problem?" I ask "Well me and my boyfriend noticed something wasn't right with the air conditioner" he said pointing at it. "There looks like there's a small crack in it" I say looking at him.

"Yall have any paper towels so I can clean the leak?" I ask "Yuh yeah should be around here somewhere let me look" He says sweetly. It's quite hot in here I start to unbutton my shirt, "Here you go" He says,

I turn and grab it from him noticing him looking at my abs, I chuckle and start to put a paper towel on. "So how come I have never heard of you?" I ask "Well yuh my dad didn't really want me to hang with pogu" He stops himself.

"Sorry that was rude" He says "It's fine i'm used to it" He looks at me sadly "How come us Kook don't get along with you Pogues? You seem so sweet" He says "Well they mostly judge us for how we are, most of us run from the cops and skip school" I say

"Wait, you skip school?!" He says "Yup summer vacations for me every day" I say chuckling. " I get why your dad hid such a pretty boy like you from us" I say looking at him, I noticed he blushed at my comment.

"So what's your name?" The Blond asks "Colby, Colby Brock" I say looking over at him. "Are you coming The Beach party?" He Asks smiling "I really don't know.." I say "You should come I think it would be awesome"

(30 MINUTES LATER)

"All done" I say as I finish, "Check and see how it works" I say the air starts to blow cool hair into my face. "How much do I owe you, Colby?" He says sweetly, "Nothing loves" Sending him a wink. His face shocked at what i have called him "A-are y-you s-sure" He says stuttering "Of course" I smile at him well texting Corey.

(10 MINUTES LATER)

I hear a familiar hawking and run to the end of the dock, jumping into the car. "What did Mr. Golbach want?" Corey's looking at me. "Actually it was his son" I say and Corey stops the van, him and Jake staring at me.

"He has a kid?!" They say with a shock expression "Yeahh his father is pretty protective" i say "So what's he look like" Corey smirks "Blond, pretty cute" I say "Ooo someone got a crush" Corey says laughing "Not like i could date him" I say bummed "Why's that?" Coreys looks at me sadly "Because he is dating Topper" I mumble.

"TOPPER?" Jakes says, "Why would he want topper when he could have this" Jakes says pointing at me. I shrug "It's whatever" I say "I'm not the only lover boy, I see you guys always checking out his friends Tara and Devyn" I say smirking at them well their faces turned bright red.

It becomes a comfortable silence, I start staring outside seeing people walking to the beach, knowing I'm not gonna be there.

Corey pulls into the driveway turning the key pulling it out of the ignition. I start to walk to my bed and lay down. Soon enough I fell asleep.

"Colby get up" Jake says poking me to get up, I start to groan opening my eyes slowly.

"What Jake" I say "we were thinking we may ditch our spot this year" Jake says, "maybe going to the beach" he finishes.

"We're not welcomed there" I say kinda angrily "it's boring at our regular spot Colby" he says.

"Just get dressed, I know you'll have fun" he says sweetly. I start to undress from my old clothes putting on a white top unbuttoning a couple of the top buttonings.

I fix my hair with a comb putting on some cologne. "I'm ready" I say "Let's go!" Jake said excitedly.

I smile at Jake's happiness knowing he's excited to see the girl he has a huge crush on.

We got to the beach and parked the van on the side of the beach road. I sit down on the towel watch as Jake and Corey go walk up to the girls and talk to them.

Soon I see a familiar blonde boy "Hey Colby!, I'm glad you came!" The blonde says sweetly, I smile at him.

"I see your friends found mine" Sam laughed a bit and I let out a little chuckle "I guess so" I say.

"So how was setting this up?" I ask "boring as usual my boyfriend was nagging at me the whole time" he says annoyed.

"Why don't you just break up with him?" I say looking at him "I'm kinda just forced, my father doesn't want me marrying a pogue" he says sadly.

"Honestly I wish I wasn't a kook, life is boring here" he says "you know what you should hangout with me and my friends" I say.

"I promise it will be fun" I say, he smiles at me. I pull him over to the boys to meet them.  "Jake, Corey this is Sam Mr. Golbach son" I say, greeting him "hi I'm Corey!" He says smiling "Jake" he says looking at Sam.

Sam POV

I smile when meeting Colby's friends, noticing Tara and Devyn hanging out with two boys, I noticed they have had a crush on them for a long time now.

"Im getting the boat" I hear Jake say, Moments later their boat is at the dock and I get pulled on the boat by Colby. I laugh at Jake's stupidness, realising I haven't been this happy in a long time.

The boat comes to a stop "LAST ONE IN THE WATER IS A ROTTEN EGG" Jake yells, him jumping into the water. The girls laugh, and soon I see Colby jumping in right after Jake Corey following Colby lead.

The girls call me to the front of the boat and we jump together, laughing as we make our way to the surface. I started to get pulled from the group, noticing Colby grabbing my hand "follow me".

"I had a grea-" Before I could finish my sentence a pair of lips were smashed against mine, I slowly melted into the kiss, as a loving make out happened. I feel his hands creep up to my waist, we pull apart from the kiss putting our heads together.

We just at jump apart when are names were called telling us to get back on the boat. "Need help" Colby says putting his hand out for me to grab.

Jake pulls up to the dock, "Sam!" Topper says calling my name I look over at Colby in sadness "I gotta go" I say sadly.

I walk towards topper "why the fuck you hanging out with them" he says in anger, "because there nice tops" I say. He grabs a hold of my arm tightly hurting me in the process.

"Topper let go it hurts!" I say trying to make him hand let go of my arm. Soon enough there was a punch to toppers face, I turn my head to see Colby.

"Learn how to treat your boyfriend" he say gritting his teeth, I blush at his protectiveness. Colby grabs my hand and takes me away with to his house...
