prompt: a school trip to France

Chris' POV

this was it. the only reason i'd taken French in high school: the annual trip to Paris.
"i'm so freaking excited guys," i said, putting on a hoodie for the plane.
"can you shut the fuck up? it's four in the morning," Nick said sassily, clearly not in the best mood. maybe it's because he wasn't going to Paris.
"yeah, i'm happy for you, but some of us have to go to school in a couple hours," Matt said in a kinder tone.
i looked at my phone, seeing Nate and his mom were here. i said goodbye to my family and hugged my brothers.
Nate's mom graciously got us coffee and donuts and we snacked on the way there, admiring the sunrise.
when we arrived at the airport his mom helped us get our luggage.
"be safe boys, make good decisions, and take tons of pictures," she smiled and kissed Nate's head and hugged me.
"Thanks," i grinned and we headed inside. we found our class and waited for when it was time to board.
i groaned and readjusted in the uncomfortable chair. i glanced around and noticed someone wasn't there.
there was another reason i'd signed up to take the intense language of French freshman year: my girlfriend at the time, y/n. we'd dated for three, years. she was my first girlfriend and i was sure she was the love of my life.
"dude she might not be coming," Nate whispered to me, knowing what i was thinking.
i looked at my hands. as cheesy as it was, i was hoping that maybe this trip would rekindle what we had. and if not bring us back together then at least drive us to be friends again. i missed my best friend.
then suddenly two girls came approached our group: y/n and Callie. they checked in then found seats next to me and Nate.
"hey Callie," Nate grinned. he was a total simp for her brown hair and green eyes. actually he had a weird obsession with her freckles.
"what's up Nate," Callie grinned back and sat back against the seat, taking her hood down.
i smiled politely at Callie and Nate nudged me. he wanted me to say hi to y/n.
        "morning y/n," i smiled a bit.
she looked up and smiled a bit back. "hey,"

when we arrived to the hotel we were all in awe. the lobby floor was a black marble, the walls were white with stone closer to the ground, and there was a giant chandelier on the ceiling. the people working were all in suits and were extremely polite.
from snooping, me and Nate figured out that y/n and Callie were staying on the fourteenth floor and were rooming together. that was just a floor below us.
"holy shit look at this water," i pointed to fancy packaged water in our room and the fridge stocked with food.
"dude don't touch or we'll have to pay," Nate tossed his bag down on one of the beds.
"i'm gonna call my brothers to show them we're here," i decided, taking out my phone.
Nate opened the curtains to reveal the prettiest view i've ever seen. the Eiffel tower was lit up along with the streets of  Paris. it was a sight.
Nick answered and smiled, seeing us both.
"hey! oh shit what time is it?" i asked, realizing the time difference.
"a little past midnight," Matt said, sitting next to Nick. "mom's in bed."
i nodded a bit and turned the camera to show the view, hearing 'woah's from both of them.
"i know! it's amazing. we have to get ready for dinner but i wanted to let you guys know we made it," i grinned, thinking about how y/n was here too.
"and don't worry, y/n's here as well," Nate snickered, probably seeing the goofy look on my face.
Matt laughed and Nick rolled his eyes.
"dude leave her alone," Nick chuckled.
"can't hear you gotta get to dinner byeee," i hung up and chuckled, putting my face in my hand. i was definitely tweaking.
me and Nate looked dashing, let me say. i wore a white button up with navy pants and Nate wore a white button up with black pants.
for dinner we all met and sat. Nate called over Callie and luckily for me her best friend followed.
"what's...escargots?" i asked and looked up at y/n. she was always better at French than me.
            "snails, Chris," she laughed.
i stuck my tongue out in disgust. i would not be getting escargots.
a waiter came over to take our side of the tables orders and i looked at everyone else.
"Puis-je avoir une limonade s'il vous plaît?" y/n asked politely, all the words rolling off her tongue. it was mesmerizing.
            "Moi aussi," Callie chirped up.
Nate thought before just ordering a water.
"Moi aussi," i grinned. saved it.

after dinner my small group gathered on the street to head back to the hotel room.
"you wouldn't want to come back to our room, would you?" Nate asked smoothly.
i looked at y/n. i would be nothing less than a gentleman, wanting to respect her.
"i..would, yeah," Callie chuckled and looked at y/n.
         "yknow what? sure." y/n smiled.
i felt a blush creep to my cheeks.
that night was a dream. we talked about anything and everything. y/n got comfortable on my bed and i sat on the edge so she'd have space.
          until her phone rang.
"oh shit it's Josh," y/n got up and walked to our bathroom.
Josh? i thought to myself. who the hell was Josh?
"hey baby, yeah we're here." y/n said then listened. Nate and Callie went back to talking but i didn't because she called him what she used to call me. "okay, talk to you later darling,"
           she was officially over me.

   poor french babe 😔
i might do a second part so chrissy can have us back. maybe.
