My dearest Y-N will hopefully forgive me for forgetting the valentine traditional day with these" Zhongli thanked the harbinger as he quickly ran out of the Northland Bank, not noticing the smirk the hydro harbinger wore, to make sure everything else was prepared for the make-up day.
Valentines day was two days ago and Zhongli had been distracted all week with multiple issues, including some Archon work which caused your lover to lose 3 days which upset you as he had already forgotten Christmas and new year celebration and when he walked in, 11pm Valentine night, to see you upset on the couch, holding A single Glazed Lily you had been given by Xiao who you assume was under orders from his Archon which greatly upset you as it made you feel like you were an afterthought.
"Oh my dear Y-N, why are you still awake? It is nearing midnight and you must be exhausted " Zhongli greeted you as he sat down his gloves on the table with his keys. Yet when he saw your scowling, when he saw you ripping up the glazed lily, when he saw the love of his life quite upset he would stop trying to figure out why except nothing came to mind until he walked into the kitchen to see a full 3 course meal you had spent hours making. The entire time you were quiet, silent rage over all the missed holidays he had half apologies about but this one, this one the two of had planned weeks ahead so you could both celebrate yet, yet still he forgot.
"I missed it... No! Valentine's day is tomorrow! I made sure about it... I-I promise l did not forget about it" Zhongli freaked as he turned back to face you though it was quite hard as your face was filled with disappointment and pure complete and utter exhaustion. Shaking his head furiously Zhongli would hug you muttering how he wasn't wrong and 'it can't be today' which made you even more upset about, and caused you to shove him. If he had admitted that he got his days mixed up you wouldn't have been as upset but as he kept reassuring himself about how he wasn't wrong your frustration grew into anger which made you snap!
"WELL YOUR WRONG MORAX" You hissed at him before storming into the dinning room to throw out the dinner you spent half the afternoon making "Your wrong...you missed the fourth 'silly mortal holiday' and honestly if you are so desperate to not be bothered with me then say so! I'll go! I can't be the only one putting effort into this Mo-mmm Zhongli, so just tell me if your bored of us" You knew his true identity and even though you loved him, when you were SO uncontainable angry it would slip out, the custom to swear to his god name as natural as breathing, which you hated because you knew he was no longer Morax. Knowing you were not calling his name out of disrespect, Zhongli would take a deep breath before kneeling in front of you and lowering his head, as if he was about to pray to you like many mortals had done for him back when he was an Archon.
"My dearest Y-N, please...I promise you I understand your anger, I understand why you hate me for forgetting the customary day of couples, so please yell at me, Hit me, do to me as you will until you are no longer angry and let me make it up to you" Zhongli's voice was weak as he didn't even look up at you yet when you said nothing and he felt a wet drop hit his hand he knew you were crying. Quickly looking up he would hesitate for only a moment before he wraps his arms around your waist and gently leads you into his lap so he could comfort you while you ball your eyes out. Whispering his apologies into your ear you would soon calm down and look at him, your eyes weak from the emotional roll-a-coaster you had been on today.
"I was so excited for today...I woke up ready for the day. I went out and saw how many, Many couples were spoiling each other, giving gifts, been...loving and then midday came around, when you promised to come home...and you were still out which upset me but I hoped you would be home by dinner so I made Bamboo Shoot Soup with Chili-Mince Cornbread Buns and rice pudding for you...cause you said you liked my rice pudding and of course when Xaoi cam-" You were cut off by Zhongli kissing your forehead before muttering something about Xaoi been late to a meeting that caused him to be even later, which told you Xaoi hadnt been acting on orders which made you feel guilty which came out in your voice weakening
"He...he came by with the Glazed lily then he left saying you would be late home and when you came home I just got frustrated with you..." You finished explaining your sudden outburst as Zhongli once again helped calm you and reassured you it wasn't your fault and that he loved you so much he would make up the day and it would be amazing!
Now as Zhongli walked down the stairs from the Northern bank going the back way, he would think about other things to get for you, turning left so he could see what they had at the Mingxing Jewelry. After deciding that none of the slivers or fragments were what he wanted to spoil you with, Zhongli would quickly make his way to the Xinyue Kiosk to pick up your favorite liyue dish for dinner, before turning back and heading towards the harbor where the two of you resided, yet he stopped at the edge of the bridge when Xaoi appeared with a bouquet of Glazed Lilies Zhongli had ordered him to get.
"Xaoi...for now I forgive you however do not ever, EVER mess with my relationship with Y-N again even if you think you are helping, I will lock you away for 1000 years of torment" Zhongli Warned his Adeptus before continuing his stroll towards your shared house and quickly walked inside before he closed the door, knowing you would be out for only another half an hour at most. Quickly cleaning the house from the get-together you had with your friends that day which he promised he would do to get you out of the house for long enough for him to set up a loving candlelit dinner with imported chocolate from Snezhnaya that...oh wait what if you do not like the chocolate. Realizing he had asked Childe to take the chocolate from its original packaging and put it in a romantic box, Zhongli would quickly open the box, which surprised him as the chocolates were in hearts and flowers, Eight! ah perfect he can have one and it be your favorite number, plus it was milk chocolate which he knew was your absolute favorite. Grabbing the extra chocolate Zhongli would quickly eat it, savoring how smooth the chocolate was, clearly Childe hadn't spared a single mora on these chocolate as per Zhongli's desperate request though as he went about finishing making the evening romantic he realized Childe had bought chocolates with an extra ingredient added into them but it was too late to change the chocolates so he just planned to over feed you with dinner so you would be too full to want the Chocolates. 25 minutes after he arrived home you would walk into the shared apartment and sit down the bag of shopping you had done with your friends, you would be greeted by Zhongli sipping walking over with a cup of tea for you to enjoy before dinner. Sipping on the tea you would silently follow him yet before you could speak to him however Zhongli quickly pulled your chair out for you, which you happily sat down on given you had spent the afternoon on your feet not giving you a moment to rest your feet.
"Thank you Zhongli, OH! is this...something tells me you didn't actually cook all this but it looks amazing" your words were not meant as an insult but when Zhongli did not respond as he was quite focused on serving the food you thought he may have taken it as one but when he served you a hefty plate and kissed the side of your head, you shook it off. Silently eating dinner as normal you would notice Zhongli isn't eating at his normal pace or even in his normally put together style which really confused you so as you ate you would pick up on everything that was wrong. He ate slowly, his cheeks were red, his breathing was labored and he was shifting uncomfortably in his seat an-OH!
"Hey...Zhongli are you ok dear?" You asked as you reached out to grab one of the chocolates that were in the middle of the table. Seeing you reach out for the same Chocolates that was giving Zhongli a Hard time, he would go to stop you but you were quicker and after putting the chocolate in your mouth your eyes would go wider before giggling and standing up. You knew exactly why Zhongli was looking away and why he was not saying much, giving he was trying to stay calm but yet as you made your way around the table to sit on the table next to him. he couldn't help his mind wander, thanks to the potent aphrodisiac from the chocolates, about how soft your thighs looked or how your shirt rolled up when you reached over to hold his cheek.
"Y-N...you shouldn't have eaten the chocolate..." Zhongli mutters as you push his chair out a little so you could see the tent that was begging to be freed by you. Feeling ashamed Zhongli would try to hide it but when you grab his hand and move it from his tent you would whisper in his ear the truth about today.
"I knew exactly what was in those Chocolates, I knew you would go to Childe and I knew you would try them before I got home because you're my good archon, and you're trying to make up for an easy mistake you made in our relationship. Now, either we can start here and finish on the couch or we can start in the bedroom and go until all of these chocolates are finished" Your words only edged on Zhongli as he eyed you up and down before picking you up and grabbing the box of chocolates so he could lock himself and you away in the bedroom until you forgave him. no matter how many rounds it took~
