In where Seven regains his memories and decides to dive deep in though of his past actions.
Really boring, if I'm being honest.
——
"Hah," Seven breathed heavily, clenching the hilt of his sword. He covered his eyes using his arm, visibly distressed.
He let go of his sword, allowing it to fall off his bed and onto the floor, causing a slight irritating sound. He sighed heavily again,
"That sword was so terrifying, it almost killed me."
"I had to take a full year to recover."
"In the next two years, I kept having this nightmare."
"I dreamt that you slashed me to death over and over again."
"If I don't vanquish you, I'll be living under your shadow for life."
Captain Jack was just one of his victims.
Did he really feel that way about Seven? After just a mere slash, did he really train for two years straight just to enact revenge on him?
Seven wasn't even serious facing the pirate. To him, he was just another opponent in the way. Hell, Seven didn't even think of killing him, just injuring him to an extent where he wouldn't be able to chase Seven.
Although after hearing Captain Jack's story, it seemed Seven did just more than cause a permanent scar on his chest. The pirate had developed an inferiority complex towards the former assassin, deeming if he didn't defeat Seven, he'd quote, "live under his shadow forever".
The former assassin truly hoped that stabbing himself consoled the pirate at least a little bit, although he highly doubted that'll be the end of it. Captain Jack was stubborn. That, Seven knew from their short, past interactions.
Seven rolled over his bed, staring over the dagger he'd drop on the floor.
That sword was the main weapon of all his deeds. The reason for Captain Jack's slash, the reason Ouyang Zan's master was dead and the sword he'd use to kill hundreds. Thousands would be over exaggerating it.
The people he'd been assigned to kill are dead. The people who were in his way had trauma. The innocents who were intertwined in his missions, in-between those two categories.
And here he was.
Alive and well.
He didn't deserve this.
Any of this.
Maybe getting betrayed, stabbed in the back of your loved-one and getting captured and killed by various assassin's to be sentenced to death was his well-deserved end. Dying alone in the deep depths of the ocean wasn't to bad either. And honestly, weren't it for Dai Bo, that would've been how his life should've ended.
But no, he was here. Regretting things only now like tbe idiot he was, thinking of what he should've done back then although it was literal years ago.
Seven forgets, how the hell did he end up being an assassin in the first place?
Dai Bo- wait, no. That was after he got amnesia. Back when things were easier, happier. Before Seven complicated everything up again.
. . Dai Bo should've never been roped into any of this in the first place.
Had it wasn't for that blue chicken saving him, he would've died. And yet, this is how he repays Dai Bo, by roping him into his stupid past, getting him into stupid fights, making him a target of that stupid country. .
Hell, and Xiao Fei was just a kid. Well. . Seven wasn't sure how old exactly Xiao Fei was in bird years or something, but Seven's always considered him his little brother despite one being a human and the other a chicken/pigeon thing. .
He loved them.
Like family, he loved the chickens very much. Seven wasn't familiar with the feeling, and he wasn't very fond of it either considering all the bad experiences he's had with the emotion.
But the chickens proved themselves different.
They'd put themselves in various situations, various death scenarios just to save a bastard like himself. They'd even gone against Shadow Killers for hell's sake just to save Seven from his stupid ass.
And Seven just created more trouble for them.
Ever since he was a child, to a teenager, to an adult, he's done nothing but create trouble for the ones he loved.
It was a never-ending cycle of loath and anxiety.
