It was a cloudy Thursday afternoon in Manhattan. Alicia was peacefully walking down the same street she walked down every day when she left work. Her shift was from 6am to 1pm. She was walking by some stores admiring the things inside.
Alicia's friend had told her about a music store close to where she was walking. She turned a corner and found herself right in front of the entrance of the music store. She had homework to do, but went in anyway. It was very quiet for it to be a music store.
She moved to an isle with guitars. She had always loved guitars but never took time to learn to play it. As a child, Alicia always focused on studies to get into a good college. She admired some black and white guitars that she would've one day loved to play in a band.
She picked one up and examined its features. It looked simple to learn, but Alicia more than anyone knew, that no matter how simple something looked, that didn't mean it was. She strummed the heavy object and an un even beat came out. Alicia was now determined to tune it.
She struggled to get the sound she wanted but failed. She put it back in its spot. She walked to another isle with guitar looking instruments, it looked very similar to a guitar, but this beautiful object only had 4 strings. Alicia grabbed it and strummed it. It's noted were lower than the guitar. She immediately fell in love with the low sound it made.
It seemed as if the bass had already been tuned, but it still needed a little bit more work. Alicia finished it, it was fully tuned! She smiled to herself at her small accomplishment. She tried to play something, but the notes were to low to actually play a song. Alicia didn't mind though.
Alicia played some notes that she remembered from her clarinet classes in school. She put it back in its place and kept admiring the variety of basses. She was so busy looking at them that she didn't notice someone standing next to her. He was tall, his brown eyes were beautiful, his brown hair was up into a long quiff like hair style.
He gabbed a red bass and examined it. Alicia hadn't realized she was watching his every move, he looked up her and smiled. She smiled back and looked back up at the instruments. "Do you play?" He asked. "Oh, actually no I don't. I don't even know the name of this instrument" she said and giggled.
He pointed at the 4 stringed object and said "this is a bass" he said and she nodded. Then he pointed at a guitar. "You see, the guitar has 6 strings and a bass has 4. The bass has lower notes than a guitar" he said. "I've always wanted to play an instrument" she said and touched the smooth material of the bass.
"I could teach you" he said a bit shyly. Her eyes lighted up in excitement. "Really?" She said wide eyed. He laughed lightly at her and said "yeah of course" he said and smiled at her. She smiled back and said "thank you, oh by the way, I didn't get your name" she said. "Oh right, I'm Dallon" he said.
"I'm Alicia" she said and shaked his hand. "Nice to meet you Alicia, so when can you come over and get a few lessons?" He asked. "well I have work from 6am to 1pm and my classes are from 4 to 9" she answered back to him. "So from 2 to 2:30 on weekends" he asked. "Of course" she said. They exchanged numbers and Dallon left.
Alicia purchased a black and white bass. She walked back to her small apartment with the beautiful object in her hand. She opened her apartment door and put the bass in a corner in her bedroom. She remembered how nice Dallon was and how she couldn't wait to learn how to play the instrument.
She quickly finished her homework and it was 3:30 so she changed into some shoes. She grabbed her books and work and put in her book bag. She took her car to her college. She had taken it for 7 years. She started when she was 20. She arrived and walked to her classes.

It was almost 9 and her classes were all done. Alicia walked to her car and drove back home. She was tired so she showered and changed into her pajamas. She towel dried her brown hair and went to sleep.
